IT WAS OUR FAULT, WILL.

YOU DIDN'T TELL ME YOU ARE A PSYCHIC, LES,
OR SHOULD I SAY,
DEADITE. |
|
|
DEAD BY DAWN DEAD BY DAW- I mean... nice weather we're having? |
|
|
Yeah, man. It's pretty groovy.
With that being said there is still hope for a fourth Evil Dead / second Army of Darkness.
I want them to start immediately after AoD's original ending: Ash waking up to a post-apocalyptic nightmare. |
|
|
The way Sam talks about it makes me not want him to do it.
People beg for more Indy - we get crystal skull.
People beg for more Alien - we get prometheus
And the way Sam talks about it id rather him not because there's no point in having him do a sequel he doesn't want to do.
Otherwise the film loses its heart and spirit and would just make the fans complain all day. |
|
|
He says he's passionate about it, man. If he still has that spark for the franchise he's capable of greatness, with the material.
And, I liked Crystal Skull and Prometheus. :/ |
|
|
Hes not passionate if the only reason hes talking about it at all is from the fans annoyances.
And I liked them too.
But evil dead 4 would get the same general reaction and I can only take so much negativity. |
|
|
" I didn't have a tremendous amount of passion until right now to bring to it." - from the article
It sounds like he is willing to commit to the project, but it was the fan's pushing him that resulted in an early announcement. That's what I got from the article anyway.
"But evil dead 4 would get the same general reaction and I can only take so much negativity."
Yeah I guess.
I know I'm holding onto false hope, but I just don't like the direction of the remake. It looks too dark. And, I love dark films, but that's not what ED / AoD is to me ya' know? |
|
|
I personally love the direction.
I mean I can only imagine how terrifying the first Evil Dead was when it came out, and I think instead of remaking the film they want to remake our reactions.
Because I'll be honest. Me and my friends laugh about the evil dead films all the time. We talk about them as comedies, even the first. We'll constantly quote Scotty, etc.
But that's just because that film is so old and so different than it was when it was released.
So yeah, I'd like a scary one. Especially since movies can't really scare me at all anymore. And hearing how this new one is supposed to scare people who've been watching horror films for the last 30 years... I'm really excited. |
|
|
While that does sound intriguing it doesn't appeal to me as a fan of the original trilogy. I know these are different times, and as such horror might appear to comedy to us as we're desensitized, but at times I get the feeling that they intentionally made it a cheesy camp horror movie, and that's how I associate the films.
But yeah maybe it will be great. I know I complain a lot, and please don't think of me as being like that in general it's just I like to say what's on my mind and I can't translate that very well on here.
And, I'll probably never be able to watch it. My mother had trouble letting me watch the first movie because of the tree scene. God knows what they will throw at us this time around. |
|
|
I still don't understand why my parents let me watch these things. .-.
Maybe just because they don't affect my perception of reality. Thank God for that, I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't have my slice of horror films. |
|
|
My mother thinks that horror can influence me, and to be honest it has to a degree, but not to the extent that I want to wear someone else's face as a mask. My father's completely cool, with it, but he does think I'm a little weird, which is alright I suppose.
And, yeah. Horror has become my favourite genre. It's hard to think of entertainment without it. It grips you like no other genre. |

I just had this conversation with my mother -
"Lets go see the Evil Dead remake."
Mom: Okay.
"Remember the original?"
Mom: Yeah.
"Well this new one is made to scare people who've been watching horror movies the last 30 years."
Mom: Well that's me! Well longer than 30 but ill take it!
"Cool."
So I guess ill see it. =x |

Lucky. ;)
What's it like over where you live? To my knowledge here in the UK you can't enter the cinema to watch horror at all unless you're 18 or over, and you have to show ID if you don't look 18, which is fair enough I guess. It's a damn shame. I hope to be able to watch an Friday the 13th on the big screen. One day, man. One day.
And, your join date. I had no idea you were on this site that long. |

Yeah. My first account was February 17th 2008. My cousin told me about the site when I was like 9. Horribly addicted and just slowly my interest shifted to the forums after my main was banned.
In the US you can see an R film as long as you're 18+ or if you have someone 18+ with you.
And I actually got to see the Friday The 13th remake on the big screen. But due to the unneeded excess amounts of nudity I had to close my eyes about every 8th a second. And I didn't really like the movie anyway.
Also got to see the Nightmare remake and Scream 4. But I didn't like those either.
Or Texas Chainsaw 3D. =/
Hopefully Evil Dead will be different. |

I'm not going to see this but it will probably have a large budget which is good
I wouldn't be fine with one made exactly like the first one was |

"large budget which is good"
Not always. |
|

It is in the case of Evil Dead. |
|
gremlinsJoin Date: 2008-05-26 Post Count: 1072 |
None of the other movies had large budgets.
So no it isn't. |

Well
It is a problem if the budget is as low as the first one
And if said budget affects how the film is created |
