(Credit to ThaCruelLlama for a majority of the creative writing in this thread. gameplay was made by myself.) Intro; The effects of the second World War are still ringing in the air. The year is 1954. Nations are still weak from the massive bloodshed but ready to pick up and continue as they were doing before the war had started. Of course new ideas are emerging, the boldest are the new ideas of the bright economic systems. They go by the name capitalism and communism, almost like a new age ying and yang. Though it's not like corruption or warfare will make a turn. What is needed are expert commanders ready to take hold of their nation and cheer it on into the status of world superpower. To do this they must promote that nation of it's technology, military superiority, and economic stability. Now, go forth and enter this brave new world! ----- Power Classifications: Third World Country; These are the minnows of the world. Economy is either inflated or developing. This could also be the aftermath of an oppresive government or serious warfare. These governments recieve the least amount of influence points per active page at only 50 points per page. (Obtained having under 10 total stats.) Second World County; This classification usually means the country is undergoing some economic troubles or they are still feeling the effects of a war/major natural disaster. You can either be stuck here shortly or quite the while based on your actions. These nations recieve a decent 100 points per active page. Nations with this economic power classification easily have a capacity to suceed or fail quickly. (Obtained having over 20 total stats.) First World Country; Top class my fine friend, ruling the world. These innovators pull in a massive 250 points per active page, making them some of the most destructive or constructive nations in existence. (Obtained as having one of the 5 highest total stat counts.) Super Power; It's been a long struggle, mate. You're ranked the best of the best and you got that way through or a combination of economy, military, trade, alliances, and correct choices. A difficult classifaction to hold but the effects are awarding. For years, one nation has been known to step up above others, this one however, gains 300 Influence and one victory point per page holding the position. (Obtained by having the highest total stat value.) ----- Stat Blankets and Categories: Military; Your frontline defense of either your homeland or battles across the world. Governs warfare and your odds of suceeding. If you do suceed, also governs damage done to enemy nation. (Bound by the stats of Weapons Tech and Organization) Economy; Factors GDP, living conditions, and usually world status. Governs trading with another nation. If other nation consents to trade, governs profits gained from trade. (Bound by the stats of Organization and Communications Tech.) Technology; How advanced you are on the battlefield and in your citizen's day-to-day life. Without good technology you may as well be living in the Dark Ages. Governs the stealing of information. If hack or spy is sucessful, governs amount of information recieved. (Bound by the stats of communications tech and weapons tech.) Stat Blankets; Each stat Blanket is upgraded at the expense of 100 Influence points per stat point increased. Having certain combinations of the three stat blankets will grant abilities. -Weapons Tech- The prowess of destructive machinery. (Boosts technology and military.) -Communications Tech- Extends the reach of your nations eyes and ears. (Boosts technology and market.) -Organization- Determines the efficiency of your governing body. (Boosts market and military.) ----- Actions: Influence; Influence points are the credits your nation has to spend on actions. Influence points are gained based on your power classification and activity. Influence points will become vital as the game progresses to make vital moves. There are however, situations where a silver tongue is more valuable than a pocketful of influence points, so don't skip out on actual roleplay. Influence points are spent by PMing the GM with the name of the action you would like to do, and, if your kind enough, your current influence balance. These actions will then be announced by the GM, but anonymous to other nations unless the action discussed is war. Ex: Spy 'Merica 300IP-Balance Stat Training; Stats can be trained for 100 influence points, and grant abilities when combined in the correct combos. When training stats, the stat contributes levels to both of the stats it is bound to. The higher of these two categories determines the ability granted, which can be used for 300 influence points. War, Trade, and Spying; These actions are inacted by spending 500 influence points and selecting a nation to use them on. Should you be sucessful the stat that governs the ability will also determine how sucessful you are at it. In the case of spying this would be amount of information gained, wheras in war its enemy stats lowered. Trade requires consent from the other nation and benefits both nations, the amount benefitted determined by the Market stat. ----- Winning: Victory is achieved when a player collects 15 victory points, a hard act in a game with multiple experienced players. ----- |RULES| 1. All actions will be PMed to the GM so influence points may be tracked. 2. Admins get final decision on all conflict and arguments OOC 3. I will appoint admins appropriately. 4. Please, keep it realistic. You WILL have to speak with other nations, you WILL have to roleplay your desires. The stats system is strictly non political, politics is your job. 5. Put 'Russia' in your CS(Other) to confirm you actually have a brain. 6. Claiming results other than those announced by the GM will result in a ban. 7. Do not attempt to lie about your Influence balance, your nation will be punished for doing so. ------ CS: Name of Country: Leader (Name): Population: Total Military Size: Branches of Military: Government (Parliamentary Democracy, Dictatorship, etc.): Major Exports: Economy (Type/GDP): Other: ----- How many goodly creatures are there here! How beauteous mankind is! O brave new world, That has such people in't. —William Shakespeare
