The main idea is to “upgrade” Data Persistence so that you can save data under the game as well, instead of just under the Players. Yes, I know how in Personal Servers data is saved on the game; however, I am talking about on normal games. By doing so, that will unlock the possibility for a *lot* more games that were impossible previous to that update.

Sounds good to me, support.

Sounds good. I'm sorry, I have never used it before in a script, but would this affect Roblox bandwidth?

@Catzilla; it is already used for Personal Servers by saving the whole game when it is shut down. If it is set up how Player DP is, then it would only take effect when the game is shutting down (Because Player DP only saves when the player leaves the game). So, to answer your question; no, it should not effect Roblox's bandwidth.

Personal Servers cost money because they have 24-7 online servers. Now you want to do it with every game? That'd be BC for making even a game. Actually, I'm not sure I understood you clearly, could you please classify, or make this more understandable?

I brought up PBS's because it was already used full-out on them. Really, you would have issues understanding what I am talking about unless you know exactly what Data Persistence is and how it works. Here is a link to the wiki page about it: http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php/Data_Persistence

The reasons games aren't data persistent is because no one's scripting is perfect. Most scripts break over time. Things would also go wrong if someone hacked the server. And judging by the way you spoke of this, you probably don't understand how servers work. {~Omnovia~}

Omnovia; 1. The games themselves are not data persistent, just like not all players are data persistent. For instance, using "game:SaveNumber("RandomNumber",5)". 2. Of course no one's scripting is perfect. However, if that was the answer to "Why not have Game DP?" then Player DP shouldn't exist either. 3. When people hack the server, all the stuff they do acts like a LocalScript, which can not effect DP.

I support this, even though I won't be able to use it. That is not to say that I can't, because I've been doing games as complex as Apocalypse Rising and Deadzone for some time, but no one ever played them, so I eventually got rid of them. However, that isn't to say I wouldn't like to see it used by someone else.

As I said before, it would be scripted in by the creator, not part of every Roblox game.
