SNES has Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Kirby Super Star, Super Metriod.
I would suggest you to get a SNES, cartridges are much better then CDs because cartridges can stand such abuse. |

PS2 HAS CRASH

"PS2 HAS CRASH"
SNES has a huge variety of good games, not just Crash. I wouldn't suggest you get a system just to play one game. Also, what the heck is a Crash? |
|
|
I should also add that I have a Wii, so I can get the best SNES games on there..

That'll be a good idea, but I must warn you. You must only have a GameCube controller in order to play SNES on the VC. |

*throws you Classic Controller Pro*
Then what's this for?

Meh. You're asking me this question?
I didn't really like either of them. |
|
|
Just as a reminder:
Don't judge the question by your tastes. I have my own taste too!

Although the Super Nintendo has some of the best games of all time on it, so too does the PS2. For instance, I still think Metal Gear Solid 3 is the greatest game ever made (My personal opinion, if you disagree, that's because human beings have different tastes) and many other games released on the PS2 still have massive fanbases to this day, such as Shadow of the Colossus.
Again, that's not to say the SNES has no good games -- Some people say Final Fantasy VI is the best Final Fantasy game, and Super Mario World is often praised as the greatest in the series. But I think the biggest difference is this:
By the time the PS2 came around, story telling in games had evolved, and many of the games on the PS2 can really, really make you think. You aren't going to reflect for several minutes on Super Mario World when you finish, and Shadow of the Colossus is STILL being discussed today. |

PS2's winning, barely..

I think PS2, because I know you like Sonic, and there's the Mega Collection Plus and Gems Collection, both jam-packed with Sonic Games, such and 3 and Knuckles, Sonic R and more! Let's not forget Sonic Heroes. And quite a lot of Crash, such as Nitro Kart and The Rise of Cortex. |
|
|
@Chin
The Rise of Cortex?
And yes, I'm looking forward to the Sonic games (sadly, I'm only able to get an American PS2, so I won't be able to get Gems Collection. Good thing I have it for the Gamecube :D

The choice is getting harder, because I played Super Mario World on my Wii today.

If you like horror games, DEFINATLY get PS2 |
|
|
Crash Bandicoot > Mario
So...
PS2 > SNES
|
|
|
PS2
-Disc gets scratched
-Unplayable
SNES
-Blow into 20 year old cartridge
-Playable |
|
|
SNES has emulators. There's some on the Cool Roms website.
Both are quite neat, but I grew up with the PS2. Sonic Heroes all the way! |
|
|
Don't you already have an SNES???
OK,so get PS2,unless you have the 1st ps3 model,it works with ps2 games |
