I'm planning to start with a mediocre prebuilt (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229362) and upgrade the GPU. If there are any flaws with that plan, could you guys point them out? Now I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive yet still decent monitor. Any recommendations as far as that goes? (Live in U.S.)

Yes, one small problem; the GPU. A geforce 610 really will be terrible for gaming, try and get at least a 640.

@Sam "And upgrade the GPU" can you read?

Yep, I was definitely planning to replace it. It's just a matter of when. I'll probably swap it out the moment I have the cash.

I personally don't see why people say a GeForce 610 is "terrible" for gaming. I have a OLD mobile intel card that only has 126MB Dedicated video RAM and uses shared memory for the rest, and it can run games like Tribes: Ascend on lowest settings. I'd think that the GeForce 610 with 1GB video RAM could do much better.

Well, I suppose it works for light gaming. It's still not quite up to par with what I'm looking for, though.

Get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883258017 I don't have any faith in AMD processors (more cores but each less usable = bad gaming) and the 1TB harddrive is a good selling point. Same gfx card to boot.

I'm slightly nervous about buying a weird brand no one's heard of, though.

cyberpowerpc is a pretty big site, almost everyone knows who they are. luckily newegg always has a lot of cyberpowerpc computers on sale. for the price it seems like its ok, its just i would never use or recommend windows 8 for gaming, and im not a big fan of amd cpus

The problem with buying from a no-name maker is that you may need to return (not a huge hassle) and wait a few weeks. Otherwise it's da bomb
