@maggie: No, that's rap. Hip-hop is storytelling to a beat, about real life events, only occasionally mentioning gangs and women.

@Maggie: Slick Rick is not trash, and the Fugees are absolutely not trash.
fun. is pop, and therefore trash. They've gone through 3 guitarists and 4 bassists before their current line-up. It's all just a show backing up the singer.
They're also not indie. They've been signed to 2 big name labels, and also Fueled By Ramen, one of my least favorite labels who have also signed some of my least favorite artists. They were the follow-up project to a band that at one time was indie, but then signed to Elektra and Atlantic. |
