Claustrophobia is a horror game that is set entirely in a cave. Now, before I go on, let me compare the definitions of horror.
To Other people: Horror is when pop scares come up and then a guy with a health bar and bad AI chases you around.
To Me: Horror is when you get a glimpse of it and are hesitant to move forward. Horror is when you know the monster is behind you and you don't want to look but when you do, it's not there. Horror is when you hear something and freeze to see if it's coming towards you.
TL;DR: No jumpscares, no monsters, just sounds and imagination.
Claustrophobia takes place in an old mine that you fall into and have to get out of. The only time you see the full monster is for a split second. Otherwise, you will see a glimpse only. You will hear sounds and ambience. So how is it scary when you're not seeing him? Because you can't see more than 2 feet in front of your face. Do you really expect it not to loom out of the darkness?
TL;DR: Claustrophobia is in an old mine that you have to escape from. It's very dark and creepy.
It will also contain dynamic lighting (ish) and just the most disturbing atmosphere. It will be 13+ if not be 15+. The story is nothing new, you're hiking and fall into a mountainside and into the mine. Of course, you don't know it's a mine until the end, but anyway.
TL;DR: Dynamic lighting and 13-15+
This game is inspired by horror games like Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Abducted. This is also my first horror game besides Houston's Problem, and that was a failed attempt.
TL;DR: Inspired by good horror games Like Amnesia and Abducted, this is my first horror game.

Very interesting, I look forward to playing it. Is there any news on the expected release date? |
I'm not great with release dates, so I don't really know, but I'm going to go ahead and say that the game will probably be 50% done by July, and sometime before 50% is when a beta/demo is going to go up. My goal is to finish the game before the end of the year. |

Okay! :D |

Sounds like a Slender variant in which there isn't actually a person following you. But how is the game scary if you know nothing will pop out at you? That's like making someone listen to scary music and hope they get scared. |
How is the game not scary when you know it's following you?
Because I left that part out. |

@Harry
We're human, we know that something scary is going to occur, but we still get frightened from the anticipation. But if we know that something is not going to occur, what's the point of anticipating it?
But really, how DO you know something isn't going to occur? How do you know that if you're too slow that it can't catch up?
Trust me, I didn't say it wouldn't have its moments. The darkness and stuff will be nerve eating. And trust me, you will see it.
I don't necessarily think people will be scared, but why not ruin some kids' sleep?
But still, no jumpscares. |

Lol, I fell to the floor cracking up. |
The only thing that will scare someone is a pop up. |
*Startle
You've obviously never played a real horror game. |
@Harry
Are you downgrading the fear of pop ups to 'startling?' Lol, have YOU played a real horror game? |
Pop-ups are only scary for a second, they make you jump, and all they do is make you anticipate the next one. THis is a cheap way and breaks all immersion. Use your brain here. |

To you its the same thing to me :/ |

@Harry
The anticipation is the scary part.

I actually agree with Harry. Jumps aren't necessarily the only thing that can make people scared. Besides, he said that the there would be other scary parts. I, personally, am looking forward to this game VERY much. ;) |
I am not making an argument that jumps are the only scary thing in a game. |

Remember, with games like this when they play it once, why would they play it again? you need something to keep the players hooked. |
