A lot of offsite ads contain dangerous malware and such, i don't care if you say it's based on our search histroy but there are a lot of offsite ads with nudity, malware, fool language... |
|

Being "rich" has nothing to do with it. For them to run the complany without worrying about any economical issues, they have advertisements from off-site links, just like any other popular website. They get payed for the advertisement to be shown. |

Is buying robux and bc enough? |
|
|
by the way this is a KIDS site, would care about the money or the kids |
|

Roblox is a company. It doesn't matter who uses the service, they still need the money to keep Roblox running, like any other company out there. How would they do it? Obviously the easiest way possible. In this case, advertisements are needed.
Also, Roblox is growing larger throughout the teen ages (13-18) |

They need both.
The ads keep them gaining enough money to grow, so that they can spread their influence to even more children, making even more money, and spreading to more children, into an almost-endless cycle.

BC keeps them alive, offsite ads don't |
|
|
Plus, roblox gets like a dollar every day from ads because almost everyone uses ad blocker |
|
|
|
That adblocker thing you're talking about isn't real. Millions of people use Roblox and visit every day. I haven't seen more than over 3 people in the same server who use "adblocker". It also has nothing to do with it. They get money through the ads to run the company, pay for the staff, servers, etc. |

BC doesn't keep them alive.
There are millions of accounts, and I put less than 30% of them having a form of BC, on a rough estimate. Where does the rest of the money come from? The dime-a-dozen off-site Google advertisements that NBC see. Think about it, MILLIONS of off-site advertisements are viewed daily.
Want me to put that in rough terms?
Assuming 1,000,000 off-site ads are viewed per day,
ROBLOX would make ~$833,333. Does that clear it up for you?
I don't know the actual cost of the adverts, nor do I know how many offsite ads are viewed a day, but at a dime a dozen, with only a fraction of the userbase seeing adverts... that's the cost for you.
Now, if a moderator or admin or developer could take and inform me of the actual cost, and how many are viewed a day, I'd be more than happy to do the math so you can see their daily income from advertisements.

Also, whether the users pay any attention or block the ads, ROBLOX is still getting paid for allowing places to advertise.

users take up server space. In exchange, each time an ad is seen by an user, ROBLOX gets a small amount of money.
this small amount of money is actually pretty big if you count every user without membership. |

Going along with that, Papey, my little example above isn't too awfully far off, is it?

Actually, nevermind. Forget I asked that, I just noticed what may be an extremely bad fail from the foundation. I'm gonna have to go to sleep soon, or I'll forget which mountain dew on my desk is the one i'm currently drinking.

@jacob
I tend not to read the replies to a thread often |

Offsite ads are fine, it helps them earn money. I wonder if there's a way they can control which ads can appear, though, because I keep getting MacKeeper ads... which are almost malicious... |

Step 1: Get Google Chrome
Step 2: Download AdBlocker Plus from the Chrome Store
Step 3: Enable on ROBLOX
Problem Solved :) |
