The enemy gunship launches flares, but it's too late. The missile arcs away towards a flare, but brushes the side of the gunship and detonates. It's still flying, but their missile lock-on systems are down. |

"No more lock-on for this one; worry about the other!" Tom shouted over the windy rush of the VOTL's engines. Taking another lancer missile out of his pack, he quickly began to lock it into the cannon's chamber. |

Having lost their guidance systems, the one gunship breaks off. The other opens up with the rotary again, and dumbfires a few non-lockon missiles. They're following the dropship pretty intensely, so they must be trying to get a lock. |
