Ninjasheep and I have gotten several questions about what the plans are for Burning Gray. Of course, we're going to keep the storyline a bit of a secret because we don't want to give spoilers, but I do want the endless questions to stop, so I am going to give out some details of what the game is going to be like just so that we don't get asked constantly. Table of Contents --------------------------- 1. Lighthearted 2. Shadowborn 3. Firetouched 4. Secrets 5. Will do 6. Won't do --------------------------- 1. Lighthearted. This is currently the only character we are working on at the moment. The gameplay is based largely on my old, old game Shadowlego (http://www.roblox.com/Shadowlego-Public-Domain-place?id=37806), but it's obvious that there are many improvements to the gameplay. The storyline is much less cheesy as well. There are going to be 12 levels. 3 levels make one Part, so there will be four parts. The first level in each part is the Temple of Light level, which is basically your way of quick-traveling through the world to get to different places in the Everrealm, which brings us to level 2. In each Everrealm Level, which is the second level of each part, you aquire a new power which you'll need to get through the level and to fight the future bosses. And speaking of bosses, that's the next on our list. The third level in each part is the boss level, where you will have to use your wit to fight the boss. The dialog is intentionally ridiculous. 2. Shadowborn Each character shares the same story, but in different perspectives. The Shadowborn's gameplay is going to be in a turn-based RPG style, using my own turn-based fight system that I created (http://www.roblox.com/Turn-Based-Fight-System-Experimentation-place?id=59542061), which is still a work in progress. Shadowborn is not going to be split up into specific levels as far as we know, so we can't accurately figure how long it will take for this character to be made. 3. Firetouched We currently know the least about how we're going to do the gameplay for this character. Unless we think of something better, the Firetouched is going to be a survival mix of the two genres. It's hard to explain. 4. Secrets If you find one, you'll know. The first one in Lighthearted isn't very hard to find, but it gets a lot harder. The most I can say without it giving away the secret is that they will be used to unlock extra content at the end of the game. 5. Will Do Data Persistence is one of the most requested features for this game, and I already have the Intro GUI set up for it, and I am planning on adding it. However, I actually don't know how to do Data Persistence, so it'd take a little while for me to learn. Also, there probably won't be Data Persistence for Lighthearted until we finish that character. Then we'll work on the DP for him. Not sure about Shadowborn and Firetouched, though. Those characters will probably take a longer time to beat, so we might add DP early for them. Stop asking, it's gonna happen. Just be patient. Another thing we will do is use the new lights that ROBLOX are adding. Not the Global Shadows, just the new lights. It really adds a great effect. You know that Travelogue button in the Inventory that just sits there and you have no idea what it does? Well, I guess I might as well tell you. The Travelogue is basically just a reminder of what your powers do and reminders of what does what (for instance, you click the floating platforms to make them move, and you have to click Light Crystals to enable the end portal), and what you've learned in the story so far. I PROBABLY (Note I said probably. That's not a definite) will add smoother transitions to the parts where you are transported to a different section of the game. To me, personally, it looks kind-of ridiculous how you instantly teleport somewhere. I think just a fade-in and fade-out black/white screen will do fine for this. 6. Won't Do No offense guys, but I really don't want your suggestions for this game. Ninjasheep and I have nearly everything already planned out, so 99% of the time we won't use your idea. Sorry! We're NOT going to put you in the credits as Beta Testers if you were wondering. We're NOT going to put a checkpoint at the places you want a checkpoint. We're NOT going to make something easier/harder. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Alright, so now you may have a better view of what we're doing here. It's obviously hard for you to know what exactly is going on with the game only being 13.6% done at the moment. Hope this clears some things up.

Hullo guys. Three days ago my design studio had a 'party' (4+ of us just discussing) at your place. We enjoyed the puzzles. Great job so far, once you're finished tell me and I will group shout the link to it on my studio. Also, I could give it a free place rating, and update meh status with the results.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Lighthearted is a particularly difficult character to make just because it's so physically involved. Shadowborn, being a Turn-Based RPG, uses a GUI for all of the fighting, so it should be much easier to make.

I like your game! It's great! I like the concept, storyline, and it's a real challenge for me! I can't find the words to describe it, I just like it so much! Keep up the great work guys! (And remember to have fun while you build it!)

I would suggest a sort of non-turn-based RPG for Firetouched. Sort of like Zelda. Or an RTS. That would be kind of hard though, so probably the first one.

Wait, is Shadowborn going to have a 3D overworld or a GUI map?

I'll allow ShadowLego to answer that. And we have FireTouched's playing style already figured out. Best be quick. Try not to burn out.

Shadowborn is going to be a 3D map, yes. I'm basically going to put ninjasheep in charge for Shadowborn, if he doesn't mind. RPG's are his forte'. Of course I'll have to do all the stuff with the Turn-Based Fight System, but I want to go with whatever he wants for that character.

D'aww... I just found one of your old posts when you said "Happy Birthday to me." and it was posted on January the 5th. You troll, you. Well, while you're reading this post, I suppose I can give you some info on the Turn-Based fight system: It now has visual effects for each move and there's music with it.

Oh I do love music. Bravo. I'm online now if you want to go through further details. I'm trying out the new lighting.

If you want, we could go to the Turn-Based Fight System place and just discuss plans for Burning Gray.

Is this just going to be a conversation between you two, or-- wait, did you just say lighting? Ninja got it too!? How did you get it!? I can't find it anywhere!

The Dynamic Lighting is being tested at www.gametest2.roblox.com I find the Dynamic Lighting amazing and I think it will be a great touch on Burning Gray.

We can have a conversation if we want to. Isn't that right, Shadow? And yes, I'm a ninja, I stole it. (Actually, I don't have it, I was checking if I did.)

Yes, indeed. Alright, everything finally makes sense now. I can see the new lighting in my studio because of my buggy studio issue. My Roblox Studio is based on gametest2 instead of the actual website, and since ROBLOX is testing the lighting on gametest2, it shows up in my studio.

That explains why I can't find it. I was looking on gametest1.

I looked at the pictures, and immediatly thought, he needs to get rid of the studs and smooth things out. That would give this place a professional look and feel.
