It's dumb.
It's like saying that any modern art is really true art.
It takes no artistic ability or vision to make. Anybody with a basic Photoshop education could create these things incredibly simply.
Stop playing off your inability to create complex designs and your lack of artistic vision as 'simplicity.' Unless you're implying that these things are simply stupid.

Any art takes a vision, might it be a good or bad vision in your eyes cannot deny that it is a vision.
You're clearly an alt, but if I have to let you know, art on roblox has become about bevels, a trend I started in 2010, and now I'm trying to simplify the logos.
I don't care if you think it's bad, but you should know that an artist creates what he envisions in his mind, from there, he tries to put it on the canvas. All art takes a vision Kid, and how ironic that you have it in your name.

Of course all art takes vision. What I'm suggesting is that your vision is blind sided by your seeming inability to create a more complex design.
I'll be honest, most logos on ROBLOX aren't truly visionary either. But this? I could create this in Photoshop by free handing the basic shape, copying it three times and re-positioning the layers, varying the colors, adding a stoke, then putting in some shading. Child's play.
I'm not suggesting that artwork is judged off of how it's created, but if the final product has no substance, than what is to be judged?
It disturbs me to find what people consider art these days. Blank canvas with a single paint stroke, a literal pie in an oven that the person did not create themselves, some scarp metal hanging from a truss? This is not art. It's just proof that the artist's vision is blinded by the trends of today society. A true shame. |

I see you know what you are doing in photoshop, my point is, this was my vision. Sure, you COULD do this, but you didn't have this vision. It's inevitable that a person with your knowledge of photoshop has visions as well, and you are able to carry them out.
With that, I can say that I can pull off what you created, but after all, it would be your vision, and I respect that.

Looks pretty nice. I see you used a marque tool for that extra lighting. Try using the blur or smudge tool to make the light look like its not just a circle, but fading into the shape.

Yeah I see that it would look better doing that, looking back at it. At the time when I added the extra lighting, the whole thing was flat and simple, so it looked more smooth. Now it seems a bit unnatural matched with the brushes and the bevel. |

The texture looks nice though, but the ring's texture doesn't match. Overall it's a pretty sweet shape.

The ring was an afterthought. It looked too simple, so I just added the ring, put a glow on it, rasterized it, then shaded it using the dodge and burn tools.
I should have done the reverse and added a black stroke on to a teal inner part. |
