spammers are defined as someone who meets one or all of the following:
-someone who gets more than 1k posts a day twice consecutively
-someone who gets floodchecked more than 5k times in one day
-someone who posts the exact same message 100 times in one day
ok so once they have been labeled as spammers their post count goes in reverse
and once it reaches 0 again they have to be menu chat (or just not allowed to post) for a week to a month, depending on how egregious the spammer is
then they get post count going normally again
it will discourage spam because the main reason for spamming is higher post count and if they lose their post count they wont spam |

What do you think of the idea of either removing post count completely and replacing it with a new reputation system, or hiding post count from public view, similar as to wipeouts? |
|
|
i think reputation idea is good
that should remove a lot of the joys spammers find in spamming
the just hiding post count from the public isnt good because then people can lie about it and it would be just as annoying as people spamming for post count |
|
|
Hiding post count like wipeouts. |
|
|
A reputation system could be easily abused. |
|
|
black
how so
i think it sounds like a good idea |
|
|
Somebody known to try to abuse system could loose influence and not be able to give reputation points. Only those with clean histories and high reputations could alter the rep of others. |
|
|
personally i don't find the reputation idea very good because in the end i think it would essentially boil down to what post count has |
|
|
I think that rep system should be if:
You have a good slate
and If you've played for ATLEAST 3 months, so that they couldn't just make alts
siggy |
|
|
>and If you've played for ATLEAST 3 months, so that they couldn't just make alts
a problem with putting a limitation on how old an account has to be to do X is that more often than not it's more of a nuisance for genuinely innocent folk than anything else
for example fastlane, or anybody with large pools of alts (see: many an OTer) could still easily abuse the system while many genuine people would get shafted |

Keep post count! If you remove it, You will lose many members. I would be one of them, And hey that's a lot of Money roblox would lose.
I buy Roblox cards a lot to. |
|

removing post count is not a bad idea
im tired of wanting to discuss something and then getting 5 posts that all say "lol" "no" or some inane phrase that is vague enough to be used on every thread |
|
|
yeah a lot better thanks m8
>I think this whole post count removal is a bad idea, You moderators getting more involved wth the forum was supposed to lower forum drama.
you can more or less blame that on the old mods who alienated the forums opinions of the staff almost as a whole
>Your first act being to remove post count is the worst possible way to start.
personally i think it's one of the best things they can do
it'd alienate the community even more than ever before but in the long run i think it'd make the forums better
>Even now yove turned a decent idea io a twisted being that i want to kill. Nice going.
okay |

If it goes backwards, the spammers will spam more because they want to get back to 0 so they could post again...
~This post is 20% cooler than yours.~

>Keep post count! If you remove it, You will lose many members.
most of the members they'll be losing seem to be the very people who are causing the problem here so im not really seeing the issue
also people made this claim with BC games and nothing happened then so why would it now
>I would be one of them, And hey that's a lot of Money roblox would lose.
they probably wouldn't lose much if at all any money
potential money maybe but not real money
>I buy Roblox cards a lot to.
okay |
|

>What do you think of the idea of either removing post count completely and replacing it with a new reputation system, or hiding post count from public view, similar as to wipeouts?
Well, if you want to lose a majority of people on the forums, you can do that. |

Fax is right.
How about, in response to the mod, you have the option to show your post count or not?
~The inner machinations of my mind are an enigma |
|

"How about, in response to the mod, you have the option to show your post count or not?"
If hiding post count is optional then it wouldn't solve the problem with people judging eachother about post count. |
|
|
>How about, in response to the mod, you have the option to show your post count or not?
that would solve nothing |
