Intro ROBLOX has come a long way, with data persistence to dynamic lighting but we (as a community) need to go further. - Request I ask of the ROBLOXian staff to add universal leader-boards, this would be rather difficult but let me explain in more detail what this would be specifically. Simplistically is it all of the servers data persistence , data, automatically updated for all of the currently active servers. For example, there are 6 servers in a ROBLOX (RPG) game, I rank up to level 50 and I am in, Server 1. So everyone in server 2-6 can be able to see my level from Server 1 if data persistence is active. To be slightly more specific the universal leader boards can be optimized to display the top 10 ranks for a game that has data persistence leader-boards. If the top position was obtained by me and someone from another server, let's say server 3 , surpassed my level, everyone who is playing the game , in all of the servers will simultaneously see that someone from Server 3 has surpassed me and will be ranked 1st if his rank and level was saved. Also, because this feature only transfers data when it is saved data-persistently, you wont have to worry about users changing their levels. If I am level 50 and I saved my level , then removed my data, (meaning reseting it to level 1) my rank will automatically be removed from the universal leader board. - Why Add this Feature? You may think this idea is either impossible to add, not important, or unnecessary , but let me explain why you should add this feature. - Everyone knows that users play games longer if data is saved. They feel a sense of achievement and value as they gain more experience and progress. But with interconnected servers, data can we reached from various places useful for but not limited to RPG Statistics, Catalog Games, Fighting Games, Building GAMES, actually I want to talk about how this can be used excellently with the building games. You do realize that if every server is interconnected anything that is made and saved data-persistently "can" be viewed and used by all users increasing social interaction and enhancing the time users spend playing robloxian games, thus increasing the popularity of roblox and the likely hood of users purchasing BC memberships. - Cut Back on Hackers - Using this feature Game Moderators and Creators can stop hackers in their tracks. if a hacker hacked his/her level to infinity, it would be easily viewed by all the players and GM will have proof and can add in-game functions to automatically reset their level. - How Else Can This Be Used? Let's say you're currently playing a game that is categorized as racing. The top speeds are viewed on the UL (Universal Leader Board) and I decide to challenge that player. I click on the players UL rank( his name and rank number that is on the UL) and teleport to his server (if it is not full and if he/she is online). I can challenge that person in a race and find other people that are at or near my skill level. This is a very strange thing to say and to ask for but I think it would be interesting if players can send messages to currently online players(In game) that are on the Universal Leaderboards. Yes indeed I can see a lot of problems with that function. This feature will create a large sense of community. While most games, shall I say all, have a player limit of 6-30 this feature will allow servers to seem more open. Also it will allow for skilled players a like to meet and join. In Script Building Games this feature can be used to share scripts with people. With interconnected servers a user can save things to the game's main file( that doesnt violate scripts or ingame function), such as if I made a car modeled script, I could send it to the data base so every user can use that car. Picture this, so you have your normal leader board on the right side of your User Interface. now picture a brick, that resembles a chalk board, for say, you click on it and the top 10 levels would appear. It shouldn't and wouldn't show every single players stats and levels. Just the highest, let's say , ten levels. This feature has to be optimized correctly for this to be legitimate.

would definitely be complicated, but it would be easier if you clarified whether or not the leader-board only showed members that are on at the same time as you. That way data persistence can just call upon the player data that has already been activated on an alternate server. OR if you want it to show the top players regardless of if they are online or not. The latter would be a funny way to catch hackers that manage to save their levels but would also be harder to accomplish a live feed for that in my belief (would be easier to make a manual leader board that gets updated by the game creator in this instance)
