Places have thumbnails, and thanks to this game creators can make their creations look a lot cooler. Unfortunately, this system is also abused to trick users into playing games. Despite having its disadvantages, though, the thumbnail system has overall been a great benefit to ROBLOX. That's why we need to transpose it to models as well. As of right now if you make a model, the only way to really control how it looks is using thumbnailcamera, but even then it looks amateurish and isn't very easy to use. Not only that, it has to be deleted after the model is inserted.
While tricking users into inserting false models could increase, it's already possible and happens a lot, but the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages. Unlike game thumbnails, however, model thumbnails need to be free and for everyone. To still give an incentive to purchase BC, however, thumbnails could be limited to one or two per model (a system to swap out thumbnails would also be nice) unless you have BC. Moderation would obviously apply.
In short, make a thumbnail system for models that is free for all users. It lets people make models look cooler and give a unified look to their creations if they wish. |
