Right now asking for donations on any forum is not a reportable offense. If there was a separate forum for asking for donations, it would be considered spam for posting in the wrong forum. |

In what way is it spam? It isn't repeatedly breaking the rules or posting the same comment over and over. It's asking a simple question (irritating, that is) that is unwanted in the community but doesn't break any rules. Again, if there was a subforum for asking for donations, then it WOULD be a reportable offense if they posted in the wrong forum. |

Let me give you all an analogy:
Think of asking for donations as trash. People don't want it all over the place, but it exists and it isn't causing anyone to go to jail because that's not even possible. That's why there are trash cans and even larger dumps to bring the trash out of the public and into a controlled environment.
The "Asking for Money" subforum could be thought as a trash can (not to insult those asking for money, it's just the way it is). |

I didn't post a counterargument because my argument has yet to be destroyed.

It was only posted once, and it has no forum it belongs to. (It would be spam in LMaD, too.)

I do know what spam is, and it is definitely not a player asking ONCE for money on a forum. The problem is, too many people do it, and it's been annoying ever since the forum came to be. If there was an "Asking for Money" subforum, it WOULD be considered spam for asking for money in a different forum. |

It wouldn't cut down on spam in all forums, it would encourage more begging. If they beg for money, and the forum has a specific purpose, then report the thread and be done with it. |

I don't think it would encourage more begging. When people are browsing the forum and they see a "Asking for Money" forum, they won't automatically become desperate for money. That's now how it works. People are desperate for money, so they come to the forums and make a thread asking for donations.
And I'm not quite sure what you're saying in your last sentence, please explain? |

Lay a quarter in an easy to see and reach area.
The ability to see and reach the quarter prompts everyone who passes by to grab at it, regardless of if they need it.
Lay another in an easy to reach, hard to see area; or a hard to reach, easy to see area.
The ability to reach but not see it (Or see but not reach) leaves only a select few who shoot for it, specifically those who probably actually need it.
Lay one in a hard to reach, hard to see area.
They would have to literally be hunting for the quarter to get it.

I see what you're saying, and I think you're right. I don't really see what's wrong with asking for money on a forum created for asking for money, though. If someone's feeling generous, they can stop by that forum and see if they can find a decent thread/person to donate to. |

Well, most users don't use the forums. I say about 1/2 or 2/3's of users use the forum, most are legitimate forumers. And I doubt that they would allow those fake websites on that forum. I Support. Also, Donation Centers are usually BC only, three fourths of beggars are NBC. I used to be one, then my friend got OBC.
