As most of you know, the new version of AR came out quite recently, adding a LOT of stuff. Full list: http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=99132471 But with the change in locations and gameplay, it is time for new strategies. There are three I like to go with: the "Nomad" strategy, the "Bandit" strategy, the "Paranoid" strategy and the "Co-op" strategy. === NOMAD === This strategy is basically the name. What you do is you usually endlessly roam the map, looting cities and towns as you come across them and usually quickly killing zombies, looting, and bolting. I like to call this the "hit & run" method. There are good aspects, and bad aspects about this strategy. GOOD: - Endless roaming makes enemies less likely to converge on your exact location. - Your fast looting can gain you massive loot if you go near military zones. - You can stay virtually hidden at night by just walking around. (WARY OF LIT CITIES AND HEADLIGHTS FROM VEHICLES.) - You might notice players with flashlights/flares from a distance if you have binoculars. BAD: - Your endless roaming can lose you hunger and thirst, and in some cases if you can't find these items you can die of this. - Sometimes other players might see you first in daylight. If they do, just turn and run. It's not worth losing your items. - If you use a vehicle to roam, you might get "unwanted" attention. Make sure to not use headlights at night, and also try and keep the sound to a minimum. A roaring engine can be heard more than you think. === BANDIT === Some people love this tactic, some people hate it. It all depends on your style. Bandits usually rack up kills, but the attention they get can earn them a death. GOOD: - Your ability to kill heartlessly will gain you loot and save you from other player deaths. - If you combine this with the "Nomad" tactic, you can quite literally wait for somebody to reveal their location and head to it. BAD: - Bandits are usually hated upon and sometimes teams will group up just to kill you. Make sure to always stay under the radar, try not to let the other person see you, never go out in the open during the daytime and follow the normal rules of the "Nomad" tactic. === PARANOID === My personal favorite. In this one, you aren't necessarily a "bandit" per-se, but you aren't an angel either. You can either choose to roam or stay in a permanent base, but you kill anything that moves. Doing this not only saves you from bandits, but also gains you loot. GOOD: - Being paranoid about other players and zombies will save you in many instances. That tiny movement you saw and strayed away from might save all your precious items. - Combined with staying in a base or roaming, you can quite literally also get many items. Although, try taking it slow. Being slow and cautious will save your life in many instances. BAD: - Paranoia can distract you from your real threat sometimes. - Being paranoid can lead you to take unnecessary decisions, sometimes in vain. === CO-OP === Probably the best method. Combined with the PARANOID tactic and the NOMAD tactic, you can become amazingly "rich". Basically, you grab a couple of friends and you hit the road. I've camped in a military base with my 2 friends and emerged with 12 days survived, 100-something kills to zombies, 50 human kills, an AK-47 with 10 mags of 45, a CZ-75 with 8 mags, and a base full of extra stuff. Quite literally, no matter what you do with another person, you will usually succeed. GOOD: - Your teammate can always watch your back. You guys can take turns getting stuff from the local city. You can support yourselves with a vehicle, or you can make a base that spawns high-grade equipment. - Bandits? No problem. 2 guns are better than 1. BAD: - Too many people can lead to disaster. - Also, be careful who you pick. Someone can always leave the group and kill you while you're not looking. - Make sure your team mate knows how to play. Inexperienced players (although I hate to say it) can slow you down. Unless you're intent on keeping them and teaching them, I suggest letting them learn first if you're focused on dominating and surviving. EXTRA TIPS: - Light = attention. Trust me, you don't want to use your headlights. On the last server I was in, a guy lured me and a teammate by leaving his car with the headlights. He then ambushed us. Luckily, my AK-47 never fails me, even if I hack 10% health left. - Road flares are useless. They basically give away your position. Unless you want to lure someone, don't use them. Same goes for glowsticks, they really don't do much. - Study a big city before entering. If you see zombies moving in one direction, if the lights suddenly turn on or off, there's a chance someones in. If you have binocs, use them. Never rush into a city if you see flares lit, lights on, or you obviously saw someone. - The "survivalist" perk is top-notch. It'll help in most scenarios. However, if you want to be a bandit, I suggest the "ninja" perk. It'll help you sneak up on someone. If you like the "hit & run" method, try using Adrenaline. It'll help you get away if you're low on health. Cardio is good as well for rushing for loot. == PLACES == The Trinity HQ, in my opinion, is great. High-grade military equipment spawns there, as well as food. You can support yourself in there, just make sure to cover your sectors. The mansion for me is just plain creepy. However, loot normally spawns there and it's great for a quick "grab & go". Kin is a bandit hotspot. I suggest one of the other "smaller" cities. They basically have just a little bit less loot. It's better to try those instead of rushing into Kin and risking your life and loot. Did I miss anything? Do you have a question? Feedback? Just post below. I hope this helps you in your quest for survival. Happy zombie hunting!

@Evev Scouting. I use them ALL THE TIME. Usually, I camp with a buddy, and I always lend my binoculars to him so he can scout my route to an enemy or loot from a high position.

protip, Federov is great. Unless you find an M4/Ak with silencer or drum mag, or even an LMG, stick with the federov. The M14 is kinda trash, and the revolver is great if you have some ammo. when fighting close quarters, don'y be afraid to noscope, you'll put out more accurate fire than if you were to sight in. Hatchets are handy for being stealthy, no sound and no light/flash. Also, the m3 is trash.

Shotguns are trash too. I need to pump 4 / 5 slugs into someone before they die.

Yes, binocs really fit well with literally any of the classes, but Nomads use it less. If you have a permanent base, binocs can help you notice another player before he notices you. Same with bandits, they can scout out an area before going in. In the Co-op tactic, you can have one player keep watch at night with the binocs while the other does stuff like get supplies, build, etc. Disregard females, acquire currency.

I forgot to add guns. But, I'm not going to post it. How about we just all discuss on what our favorite guns are? I personally like the AK-47. Although ammo isn't very common in normal cities, staying near a military base will allow you to survive a long time with it. I've won every single PVP match to date with my AK. ATM my secondary is the CZ-75. Capable of holding a good amount of bullets per clip, it really helps me even with 1 mag. Although my second choice would be whatever is around. I'm not really that bent on amazing secondaries. Disregard females, acquire currency.

@Green You say nomads use the binoculars less, but I don't think that's true. If I was a nomad I would CONSTANTLY be using them to spy on new areas before I secure them.

It depends on your sub-tactic. If you're using the "hit & run" method, you're less likely to use binocs. If you decide to go slow to loot, you probably would. Disregard females, acquire currency.

@Green Not really. I wouldn't go in blind, guns-a-blazing.

Some people prefer doing exactly what you wouldn't. They rush in blindly, shooting whatever moves and taking whatever they see. However, I'll admit my previous post was wrong, Nomads don't necessarily use it less, but the ones who rush do. Disregard females, acquire currency.

*sigh* kin bandit city... the place I love to go all Al'Capone on people and go out whacking bandits and stealing their loot for no reason other then to whack them.
