The creators of ANY games should be allowed incorporate their game on ROBLOX, as in make it a company on ROBLOX that can sell stock for R$ or Tix to other players. Players could buy stock in popular games, and the value of the stock would increase based on the popularity of the game. This would be a fair way to allow ROBLOXians to have more income, while teaching them a valuable real life skill. Feel free to add onto this idea.

I personally love this idea since I've always been interested in marketing/stocks. It'll add another feature to Roblox that no other game really has. Here that new interns working on the website? Merely, this seems like your kind of thing.

I'm just trying to ask and spark something at the same time. Would this play a part in the commissions from gear sold at games? Say, getting a higher amount of R$ from it based on how much stock you own in it... allowing both sides to profit. ~>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzuaZR52cXo<~

@Jacob, Im not sure if I understand the question.

Looked at that question again, and I think I understand it. The value of stocks would be based on a number of factors, including: Like to Dislike ratio(The higher the ratio, the more value added to stocks), Amount of profit it brings in(That would factor in sales of game passes, gear, etc.), and how many "core" players it has(See the article on ROBLOX's blog.) Stocks in all games would start of at the same price(10 tix per share would be the default I'd choose) and each game would get the same amount of shares (10,000 maybe?) The owner of the game decides how many of these shares they will sell if they incorporate their game. All profit that comes from shares bought from the game itself, and not from another user, goes to the creator of the game. This does not count towards a games revenue. By having things like that, investors can search for games that look promising, and buy stocks in them for low prices. The money from the original buy goes to the creator, who can then use the money to make his game cooler, such as add game passes, badges, and for advertising. Once the creator does all of this, the game get more popular, and if it is good, the Like:Dislike ratio will go up, as will the amount of core players, causing the stocks to gain value, then the original investors can sell the stock at a higher price to someone else, gaining profit. Of course there would be risk also. Lets say you pay 500 tix for a share in Apocalypse Rising before V5 is released. When V5 is released stocks soar up to 1000 tix per share, and people are buying like mad because the stocks keep going up. Now you could sell your shares now and make some cash, but instead you decide to wait, to let the prices rise more. Then Gusmanak announces he is done adding features to it, and the stock prices drop down to 250 tix for a share. By being greedy and waiting, you ended losing a chance a profit, and actually lost money. Also you could simply invest in a bad game, and overtime the shares drop in price due to no core players, no revenue, and a bad Like:Dislike ratio. NOTE: The 10 tix per share is just the default start, it can go down to at least 1 tix per share. BUMP THIS UP AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT! WITH ROBLOX's NEW UPDATES TO THE GAME PAGE, THIS SEEMS MORE POSSIBLE THAN EVER!

Sounds like a great idea. Full support. Ideally this would be accomplished by enabling stock selling in the customization. The owner would then sell X number of stocks at Y price on the market to put some into circulation (the owner has an unlimited supply). The community would then determine the price by selling for however much they want. The owner should be able to restrict buyers to friends-only or best friends-only if they please. This is a fantastic way of legitimizing donations, teaching people about stocks, and getting games more popular. There could even be a property like Player.NumStocks that would tell you how many stocks of your game a player owns, so you can give them special features if they own a large number of stocks.

Could there be group stocks as well that would go into the group funds when initially sold?

I completely agree with this idea. The closest thing to this idea I've seen is people flipping prices on RuneScape's Grand Exchange. -=Mind Over Matter=-

If they have unlimited stocks, then the stocks wouldn't be worth anything, because everyone would have them. I imagine this idea could be expanded to include groups, and it would be neat to have a value like that so people with a massive number of stocks in a game could get rewards.

I already made a suggestion on this. Listen, here's part of the bomb. "That would imply that certain people (like Merely, for example) could invest and take over the majority of the stock market, while less-rich ROBLOXians lose money and interest in the system." And no, they wouldn't lose money, unless they invested in a bad game, or something bad happened to the game they were investing in. A creator could incorporate their game, but refuse to sell any of the stock until it becomes worth more than 10 tix per share. They could also sell only a certain amount, making sure they always have some stock in their game. And actually now that I think of it, you probably could create more stocks in your game, but it would be the creator's responsibility to make sure the supply of the stock doesn't exceed the demand, so that the price doesn't drop.

The idea of stocks is that you either gain or lose money. It depends on updates of the game. ♜ [ You must be a ROBLOX Forum Moron to view this signature ]

Yes you already made the suggestion, and I apologize for taking it, I had no idea you made it. BUT my suggestion goes far more in depth as to how it would work and operate. And how would people lose money because another person owns a majority of the stock? And wouldn't that problem be solvable by the creators being allowed to determine how many shares they will sell?

I thought about it, and now I see that problem. Rich person gobbles up all the stock before poorer people can get some. I think that problem would eventually solve itself, because if you are a determined enough investor, you would be LOOKING for potential game, not waiting for them to show up. Sure some of the richer ROBLOXians would be doing that, but they couldn't find all of them, and even if they bought up a large amount, eventually they would sell the stocks, unless they want to sit on the stocks (which is risky because they could be losing money). Not to mention if they bought ALL of the stocks, and the price went up a lot, what are the odds that they manage to sell all of the stocks? Especially if demand is down, they'll lose money and learn their lesson.
