I would also love to see updates to the sky. By this I mean several things, so i'll list them out. A) A new sunset and sunrise. I, and many builders, would love to see a more beautiful sunset and sunrise than the current one. Though this presents a challenge: What if some builders want different kinds of sunsets, or want to stick with the current? I think it would be awesome if we could change the color, brightness, and profoundness of sunsets and sunrises, and an option to turn these settings off and on. B) Moving stars. I would love to see the night sky in Roblox turn as night progresses forward. But again, this should be manipulable by the builder. (On/off) C) The ability to change the phase of the moon. This would be all around spectacular, and i think it would be an easy addition for Roblox to make.

Support. I wanted to make it so my game can allow me perch on top of a tower and watch a sunset.

It would be nice... but I'm pretty sure you could script to add this.

Nope. Don't say that unless you know you can.

Support! Our sky is low quality and the lines on the skyboxes are unacceptable. This would definitely suit Roblox's new look.

Usermade skyboxs are really bad Roblox needs to make more

Support, and I forget who, but this is not exactly scriptable. Not to mention roblox already has a method to get the moon phase

I gotta agree with absol, I am certain even if never tried myself that it is entirely possible for users to do this themselves if they put the time and effort into it. Noting how the topic starter said that it would be easy i must disagree, Its not like the roblox admins or such live in a different dimension where this stuff does it by itself. Even if they decided to it would be the same amount of work for them as it would be for any other user.

@mike12833, Its almost impossible. The only imaginable way to do this currently with code is with skyboxes. The only issue is you have to make hundreds of skyboxes, maybe even thousands. The skyboxes take an enormous amount of time to make, not to mention it doesn't work anyways. This is because skyboxes need a load time, and trying to make it switch 60 times a second creates huge problems. Not to mention it can become very laggy. Also, for Roblox implementing moon phases would be pretty simple actually. All that would change is the "decal" for the moon, they even already have a GetMoonPhase() method in their library. So by changing a value in lighting called "Moonphase" would simply change the image of the moon that roblox uses. Not as hard as creating 1000 realistic skyboxes. For the rest of my ideas, it would be more of a challenge for Roblox to implement, but not by much. I didn't say it would do it by itself, i'm just saying its not as much of a challenge as dynamic lighting would be. But they accomplished that.
