Do you appreciate the viability of the different components of the Immune-System in preventing pathogenic colonization?

"@Anony Words of inspriation" "yeah i guess so" Only when you begin to take into recognition the existence of these complex systemic components can you begin to understand the importance of maintaining their over-all functionality and appreciate the fundamental degree of protection they provide in defending the human body against normally "Harmless" pathogenic organism that could easily and rapidly decimate the entire functionality of the human body on a cellular scale.

"man someones a vrgin at 40! lol" Why are you utilizing unwarranted Ad-Hominem in response to a non-aggressive statement? There's plenty of lethal and incurable pathogenic illnesses that you can contract due to a simple lack of self-restraint.

Auto-Immune disorders and pathogenic drug-resistance.

""seeing as how op's grandpa is in his late 90s, his immune system is likely to be weak, making him more susceptible to attacks like this" The susceptibility in the scenario provided then, would be secondary to pathogenic infection. Giving that his grandfather is experiencing "Incontinence", I would personally consider extensive renal dysfunction as the likely cause of the unexplained edema in this scenario.

I'd personally prefer a profession involving extensive laboratory analysis of genetic material such as DNA/RNA from pathogenic organisms. Preferably, Microbiology/Virology.

"pneumonia doesn't spread, it's when you talk while drinking." Hmm? The majority of the types of Pneumonia are caused by pathogenic infection resulting in immunological inflammation. Certain pathogens can invade the lungs via fluid inhalation.

I'd have to agree, "Interferon" is a highly beneficial protein for pathogenic deterrence.
