The Beginning....
We were at sea, June 7,1942, heading to reinforce our fellow troops. Some would say our mission was simple, others would be so worried that they'd pray every night.
We weren't planning to be in this so called "World War II," but after the destined to be historic time of the Pearl Harbor bombing by the Japanese....our country forever changed.
What was to come during our journey? Who will we discover? An enemy? An ally? We wouldn't had known till we see it for our own eyes. As we were sailing across the deep blue a crew member screamed his vocal cords out of his mouth,"Enemy ship ahead!" Everyone got to they're positions with a vast amount of fear! We got closer and closer, and the crew began to sweat of their eyes..."False alarm," the crew member said,"It's a Britain Destroyer, nothing to be afraid of!" We signaled the ship to hold fire and that we were friendly by the ship's horn. The other ship honked back the same way,but a few moments later they fired at will.
A crew member pulled out his binoculars and scrolled in to take a look at the crew.... they were Germans. We manned the guns and shot as fast as we could. We shot so fast that after shooting one missile another one was shot quick enough to take the place of the sound of fire from the one prior to it. The enemy ship did the same and the battle went on for hours, but eventually we sunk the Germans.
We never expected the Germans to steal a Britain Destroyer, but when war comes you never know what is going to come at you. We lost about 13% of our crew, and this only the beginning.

A wounded WIJ soldier lay down in the bushes, Bleeding slowly but losing just enough blood for him to go unconscious. For the 28 hours he lay still, Many soldiers from the other side crowded around the WIJ soldier, one soldier suggested taking him as slave or prisoner. The soldiers agreed and took him to their base.
When he woke up he scrambled to his feet and tried to move his hands but they would not budge......He was in restraints. Restraints that chained his hands to the wall. He screamed "HELLO!!!!!!! SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!". He looked at his wound and saw it heavily patched. He saw a shadow emerge from a window. The shadow appeared in a robe and stared at the soldier. The robed figure talked lowly "Shut up or they'll know you are awake......I will get you out and you can come with me". The shadow pick locked the cuffs and the WIJ soldier and the shadow ran off.
When the WIJ soldier and the shadow got to their destination, a western city. The robed figure walked to a small town house and took off the robe. There stood a bruised woman with a knife in her hand. "The names Shannon....Nice to meet you". She held out her other hand for a shake. The WIJ soldier then replied "My name is Daric nice to meet you as well". He shook her hand and lied down.
"So...How'd you get in that place?". Shannon asked. "Dunno.....I went unconscious for a while and next thing I know I am stuck in that place......". Daric replied. Daric glanced at a table crammed with food. "Mind if I eat?". Daric ask shoving a sandwich in his mouth. Shannon nodded and laughed. "Gotta get ya home.....We'll ride there on Shimmy". She said as she glanced at a horse in the back.
Daric finished eating and drank some water as he walked with Shannon to Shimmy. "So....Where ya live" Shannon asked. "In a city far away from here" Daric answered. "City of Lights? Wow....Not to far for ol' Shimmy" Shannon replied, hopping on to Shimmy with Daric. They galloped for at least 3 days as they finally arrived. "Thank you Shannon I wont forget this..." Daric waved as Shannon rode off "I'll miss her......" He stared as she galloped away...........TO BE CONTINUE |
