Larger Decals  1 Intro 2 Suggestion 3 Good and Bad INTRO Currently, a ROBLOX decal is limited to a tiny 256 x 256 pixels, hardly anything, which means that builders creating large scale items. whether in the 3D world or in GUI form, have to either put up with bad quality images or go through the boring task of first dividing an image into 256 x 256 chunks, individually uploading them and piecing them back together in game. This is particularly annoying when creating GUIs as I have often wanted to create a shop like background for a full screen GUI. The results, however, are blurry and unprofessional.  This restriction just seems pointless, and it is holding us back. SUGGESTION The solution to this problem is, quite simply, that we allow larger decals to be uploaded. My idea involves having a Decal Size option in the Decal Builder page. The new sizes, I think there should be two, would cost a small amount and probably be something like this. 256 x 256 Free 512 x 512 5Rs 1024 x 1024 10Rs  This makes them relatively cheap to buy, meaning increased levels of design in places but also acts as a small incentive to get BC.  GOOD AND BAD Good BC encouraged Better quality GUIs Rendering possibilities Beautiful places Serious detail No more long, drawn out processes Possible new sort function Large, Medium, Small Happy builders and designers Bad Increased in game or catalog or building lag? People cheating the system, 4 smalls equals 1 medium without paying Please add to either list So, what do you think? Talk to me people!

It would be hard to "cheat the system" when you try to re-texture meshes. You can't use four 256x256px pictures as one 512x512px image texture for a mesh. The image costs should be cheaper though. Seriously, it isn't good to charge that much so that people can use larger images. Also, about that lag issue you mentioned. If somebody decides they like their retextured sword with a 1024x1024 texture, and decide to mass copy it, it would be disastrous for those who have lower end video cards. More lag is a definite risk that you are taking if this feature is implemented.

No support, there is no point in having it to cost robux

There are obvious bugs that need to be fixed, but I support the idea. ~Selfish Brat

In reply to Uwilldie7884's post, if we say that when using a decal to texture something, all larger sizes would shrink to the original 256 x 256. What sort of prices do you guys think, then?
