Following the recent controversy, I decided it best to make a thread detailing the issue, and why law enforcement officers ARE allowed to block off sidewalks. Many of today's claims of alleged abuse of law enforcement power are stemmed from being arrested or killed near DC's infamous criminal/arms dealer- Octavio. I have received some reports from multiple IA agents who claim that it is unconstitutional to disallow citizens from standing on a sidewalk. The reason law enforcement officers have been blocking off the sidewalk near Octavio is to prevent citizens from interrupting the arrests of criminals in possession of illegal firearms- they are well within their right to prohibit you from standing on the sidewalk. [RULING:] The current ruling is that law enforcement ARE allowed to arrest or kill citizens who continuously refuse to get off the sidewalk. This is considered trespassing. I will meet with my peers at a later time to discuss this issue, and I will release an update with the results of that meeting. - [USA] Supreme Court Justice | TheEvidence

True, that is the law. So people should stop complaining about it.

I support this. @Military, even though I support this law, I do feel the need to say that because it is the law, does not mean that people should "stop complaining about it". In some cases the law can be wrong, an example of this could be in ancient Sparta, it was the law to throw the weak looking babies off of the mountain when born; by your statement you'd suggest the mothers couldn't complain about that?

Ok tell me in the LAW where it is illegal that you cannot stay on the sidewalk. Citizens have the right to be on the sidewalk. If you are so worried about citizens taking guns then why did you add Octavio in the first place?

Where in the law does it say that law enforcement cannot block sidewalks? That's exactly what the Supreme Court is for, Ilike. The decision is not final, as I said, I'll be convening with the rest of the Supreme Court later, but I am fairly confident my ruling will stand. I will use real police as an example. Have you seen police tape? Police tape is put up to prevent people from entering a certain area (sidewalks included), and that hasn't been declared unconstitutional yet. My ruling stands. - [USA] Supreme Court Justice | TheEvidence

Thank you for getting this right already! So Tankslayer10, all those videos for his "evidence" are now false. We will respect you if you respect us, please do not resist and follow our orders for your safety around Octavio. [FBI] Field Agent, Pielover258

My standpoint as a LEO is the following: If the police in DC don't want people standing near him, then you shouldn't place a public sidewalk near him in which people can convene. On the other-hand if people stand there for a extended period of time, police can go in and have them move for loitering. Police NEVER have the right to open fire on civilians UNLESS their life is in danger; doing so without cause is oppression of the public, and goes against the very guidelines the US stands on. If the people refuse police orders after several warnings, then they should arrest the civilians refusing to leave for disorderly conduct under the fact they refuse to follow police traffic order. Never should they be fired on for standing there unless they pose a threat to public safety or display a deadly weapon that cannot be dealt with any other way than lethal force. If the threat is the computerized character then they need to move him to a new location or deal with the foot traffic.

This is crap, UNCONSTITUTIONAL! We the people didn't get a choice in this, the government just made this law. This is more like a dictatorship now!

I was arresting for protesting on my parked car. Also, police technically can not block civilians away from ANYONE (Including Octavio) because DC law claims that you can not take a gun from Octavio. DC Law does not say you can't take to civilians not under arrest (Octavio)

We get arrested for standing on the side of the road, therefore it is not legal for its disrupting traffic.
