Soon I will be starting an Island Survival Game on ROBLOX. I want to know what you guys want in it!
I don't want "Dinosaurs", "Aliens". I want it to be realistic ideas such as weapons, types of wood. Fires, etc. |

If you can script, great!
I'd like animals. Like, something that will kill you.
Possibly a Puma or Wildcats that spawn at night, and will attempt to stalk you and kill you during the night.
Bats that spawn and fly around at night.
Oil lanterns that require actual fuel, and the light level depends on the amount of fuel inside of it.
Flashlights with battery power.
Trees that will collapse if struck enough with an axe, but respawn later on as a sapling, then the cycle increases until it is a full-grown tree.
Maybe craftable stuff? For instance, you collect reeds or sticks on the ground, and flint or stone, and you can craft tools out of it after carving the stone appropriately, and outfitting it.
Durability. If items contain durability, it makes it all the more realistic.
Realistic night and day cycle, with certain animals appearing on during day/night.
Possibly a realistic season system, so after so many in-game server hours, the seasons change, and the food sources change, animals differ, etc.
With seasons would come a heat system, if your character gets too hot in summer, or too cold in winter, they could die.
This could be prevented by the player starting a fire to warm themselves up, or by swimming to cool off. Another thing would be choice of clothing. Wearing a snowsuit in summer would kill, but in Winter would slow down the process of cooling. Vice versa in summer with light clothes instead.
Storms. Thunderstorms, rainstorms, and winter storms. Winter storms would cause all animals to seek shelter, and cooling process to speed up. Rainstorms would make it hard to see, and would also make animals seek shelter? Thunderstorms would make every animal seek shelter, and possibly light stuff on fire if lightning strikes flammables?
Thirst and hunger. Necessary in survival games.
That's all I can think of for the time being. This is probably too much, but hey, I'm optimistic ;) |

Make sure everyone has a skill they can call theirs.
Games where someone can be good at everything make a lot of things obsolete.
Try adding a few RPG-style stats to set the foundations for professions or the like, but then make things like hunting or fishing that are skill-based, so that players can get good at individual things.
I especially recommend a cooking system that requires you come up with recepies, timing based fishing, and an action-based hunting mechanic that requires you move quiet and hit hard before your prey flees.
This is all very complicated, but I think it's good stuff to consider. |

One more thing!
If you plan to use a hot and cold system, don't make heat kill. Dying from wearing a snowsuit in the summer seems kind of ridiculous. Instead maybe make heat rapidly decrease your thirst, making the necessity for water much higher. Cold doesn't decrease any of your hunger or thirst stats, but slows you down and makes you more tired, and extreme cold WILL kill you.
Also, nighttime should be much colder than day and dark. REALLY dark. Like, can't see your nose two inches in front of your face dark. This means you need to make a fire before the sun has set for too long or you'll be feeling around in the dark being potentially eaten by panthers. :D |

Love the ideas guys!
Do you think, if I add one or two Militiary spots on the island, it would be alright.
The Militairy spots will be Tents, they spawn usefull stuff such as Hatchets, Matches, Guns (the guns will require ammo, ammo can only be obtained at Militairy spots or if I add Heli/Boat crashes, near there. The Spots will be heavily gaurded by aggresive animals such as Tigers, Wolves, Grisley bears.

I reccoment a crashed helicopter, yes. it should contain some shelter in the way that it's, you know, A HELICOPTER. maybe it'd have a small weapon but i don't like the idea of firearms, especially if you're aiming for realism. odds are no animal in their right mind would stick around if you blew off a cap anywhere within like a mile radius.
anyways, they could contain a first aid kit that does nothing but increase your health and some lousy military rations that, although they don't fill very much hunger at a given time they have more portions and so can be saved over time. |

Yeah. I'll probably not add guns, but if I do, ammo will be very rare so you won't see much players with guns, instead Melee weapons such as a Hatchet, Hunting Knife, etc. |
