If you are the creator of your thread, and you got hates, why not be able to lock it? It could prevent lots of things.
"What if a hacker got on and locked his awesome thread?"
Would the hacker find his thread?
"Stupid. It is so pointless."
It is helpful when you don't want to get hated a ton.
