I have been wanting to make a "Visual Novel" type game for awhile now, but I can't seem to find a good place to start. So I was wondering if anyone knew of any Visual Novels that have been published here that I could read and use as a reference. For those of you who don't know - which I suspect might be most if not all of you - Visual Novels are a sub-genre of Point And Click that revolves around a certain book-like story. 99% of the gameplay is just clicking to make text appear on the screen that you read. That's why they are called Visual "Novels," because you mostly just read them like you would a paper novel. You usually get to make choices that decide how the novel ends and depending on the novel there can be dungeon crawler type RPG elements, but most of the gameplay is just reading. So, with that description in mind, do you know of any games that I could use as a reference for making a Visual Novel?

While I personally have never seen a game like that on Roblox, I do believe that this would be a good idea. As a reference, you might as well use one that has been made online. There is a simple tip you can use to decrease lag, (if you are a basic scripter, you should be able to know it,) so that you don't have a laggy novel. It will limit the amount of characters (in typing, not like characters that represent people,) but since it is a visual novel and you will be changing the text on the screen anyway, it should not affect you too much. If you don't know the tip, I can write a quick piece of code for you.
