:tick() Though I agree it should be wrapped in a service with some pretty methods to make it more accessible to all.

:tick() gives you the number of seconds since January 1st, 1970. You could do some fancy math to match it up with the Gregorian Calendar (or Julian if the extra rules are super-confusing, doesn't make a difference for hundreds of years). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregorian_calendar http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_calendar

Bit of a derailment, sorry. Yes, I'd appreciate seeing a service for the date and time as well. I would love to make a place that changed depending on the season.

Exactly. Sorry, I was doing other things, or I would have explained it. Using tick() you can convert it, as stated, as use it to do real time related events. Christmas on Christmas, Winter in Winter, etc. As I said though, it would be much much MUCH nicer to have an official service that wrapped this and had some nice methods for getting needed information.

I'm assuming he was talking about a use for the service if made.

No. It would just be annoying. You wanna look at the time and date? Look at the bottom right side of your computer screen. PROBLEM SOLVED. Almighty NonSupported [AlmightyNoob]

AlmightyNoob, please explain how a service that would allow returning of Time/Date data would be annoying. Please note that a script in Roblox can not simply look at the system time in pre-formated measures, and with a date/time service we could check for events like Christmas through scripts.
