Dubstep has actually been around for quite a while mainly in the UK where it strongly originated, in garage bands and underground artists who played at clubs and social events, but hardly ever in concert. you can thank skrillex for all the preppy dubstep hype. even though he is good, he caused most of it >:(

@xpsm1530: Post-Grunge and Emo were up until 2008 though, but in 2009, things started changing. I think that when Lady Gaga and other modern musicians such as Taio Cruz, Justin Bieber, and Ludacris took over in around that time, post grunge and emo were on their final days.
