isnt it annoying when you accidantly misspell something or make a typo ans post it only to notice the glaring mistakes you made when the post is posted?
Then you have to wait for flood-check to expire just to post again to fix the errors? Wouldn't it just be easier if you could access your post to edit it? Especially in a forum like S&I where debates go on. you could add to, edit or amend that all important first post that has your ideas...
Editing posts would still have the flood-check cool-down to stop people taking advantage of it.
and on the point it will allow people to evade bans by changing the content of posts, I ask the following questions
1.if someone feels so compelled to edit a post because of dubious or bad content why does it matter if a mod removes it?
2.what does the post moderation problem have to do with editing posts? surely the task of stopping bad content on the forums falls onto the word filter and moderators not a post editing filter?
3. even if its used in an attempt to circumvent a ban or warning why does it matter? The content of the original post is not there to see is it?

no it will just edit the content of a post and have a tag showing when it was last updated |

Someone could make a good idea, then it gets lots of supports and then gets changed to an inappropriate post and everyone gets banned for bumping it, enough though it wasn't on purpose. |

@gamer, if the maker of the thread could delete any posts, then that person could delete all the bad posts about him/her. |
