So, I think I should finally make a game. I have a few ideas of my own: A story driven RPG, with a lot of focus on having a lot of players in one server, customization so each character is built very differently, and interacting with other players. (PvP, partying up, etc...) This way, each time you play, it's different, and hopefully, starting a new character would be entertaining, rather than a repeat of the same old grind. Meeting new people will really change your experience. A rogue like, which seem to have become a bit more popular in the gaming world, and why not? They're a lot of fun and offer a ton of replay value. I don't think ROBLOX has one yet, and really, the hardest part is probably building random dungeons that work well. (I'll need to do the same for the first idea, so I might want to start with this one, and then expand on it). An Action RTS. If you've played Dota or League of Legends, then you'll know what type of game this is. I don't believe ROBLOX has a good one yet, or at least, I haven't seen any. It's a bit complex to create, after all. You have all of the multiplayer aspects, the whole RTS system, characters with unique skills, tons of items with unique abilities, loads of AI to create, and the whole RPG system. Even though both the RTS and RPG aspects are not fully developed as you'd expect a full game of one of those types to be, you still need to create statistics, an inventory, and balance combat. Anyway, I probably wouldn't do anything revolutionary with this genre, just repeat some of the stuff seen in other games of this type, with perhaps a ROBLOX spin to it. A trading card game. Some of us have played games like Magic The Gathering, others haven't, like me. It'd be nice to create my own card game, with my own rules, and think up about 200+ creatures, etc... Then program it for ROBLOX. Of course, I might need to take the Pokemon approach to graphics. (If you've ever played the original games, like Yellow or Blue Version, then you might remember your Pokemon menu had a tiny sprite next to the name of each pokemon. The sprite was determined by the type of pokemon it was, and very little detail was used). So for example, I could create one sprite that wouldn't lose much quality transferring it over to ROBLOX, and it would denote a dragon type creature. Another would be for earth or rock like creatures. I'm not much of an artist, so I'd be focusing on game play here. A business simulation game. Basically, you run a company, similar to a tycoon game, but way more open ended... The type I have in mind would be space trading. You purchase goods at Planet A, sell at Planet C, and upgrade your ship at Planet C. Prices fluctuate, stocks go up and down, and you compete with other players or computer players to become the most successful company. It's a simple concept, but loads of fun. (I'm basing this idea on a game I've played before that I want to make a clone of for ROBLOX. It's an old game, but it'd be nice to test my skills programming a game I've been playing for years). This was helpful. I think I'll explore the rogue like idea. Philosopher, Creator, Clanner, Wiki Writer, and Student

The problem with RPGs on this game is, they end up being the exact same one way or another. You have to find a way that separates you from the rest New kind of point system, new weapons New gui, new unique story, new enemies etc etc etc Once you gain those elements you can start to build something.

Yeah. I plan on it. The combat is probably going to be different. AoE, etc... I want the combat to require more thought. I want people to look forward to fighting, to testing out new skills and abilities, to experimenting. I want the story to be interesting, and for those who are willing to follow it, entertaining. And I think a dungeon system would be interesting, with a lot of support for partying up with other players. I'd need a unique plot, though, and a unique theme. I can't go with the typical RPG style... I do have one RPG like idea, a very open world like game, that's entirely different than anything else I've see. (It's like a building game, survival game, with tycoon like features, combined with RPG elements in a world where you're dead, and you're defending the good spirits against the evil spirits and ghouls that haunt them, even in the afterlife. As you explore the world, talk to people, and fight sub-bosses or complete quests, you begin to learn more about the world, and a new type of powerful being. Evil spirits cannot pass through walls that are owned by the good spirits, but a new power allows them to do just that. So towns are being terrorized, as they are completely defenseless). I think I'll do a rogue like first. (I really want to do the business simulation, lol) Then carry some of those features over to the RPG. (Since I'll need very similar systems, after all). Philosopher, Creator, Clanner, Wiki Writer, and Student

PA submarine game sounds interesting. Maybe I'll look into it. :) Exploring and finding treasure. If I can get this random dungeon generation working well, it's possible to use the method for other types of games, such as generating a sea biome. Ok so basically, players spawn in a lobby then the round starts. They have the run tool, super jump tool and fly tool and must fly around a track navigating obstacles, also the floor is kill in some areas so they must fly over it and collect power ups like shield, speed boosters, fly/jump/run recharges and bonus points. Also, you get money by trading in 100 points for 1$ winning races and setting time records which other players have to try and beat but money can also be use to buy stuff and bet on who will win the race, choose the map or game-mode even buy fire trails, capes or sparkles, smoke or other special effects.
