I had the idea of all the decals, textures and materials go more pixelated the further away they are.
I don't know if you play minecraft, but if you do, if you look at the pixelated bricks from a distance they look realistic.
Please don't reply with "roblox is already fast enough" cause if you play games with a lot of bricks that move around all the time it can be laggy.
this should improve roblox performance a lot.
Please write support or why you don't agree, don't write nothing or WNTS or no support on it's own. |

There's a term for this, it's called 'Procedural Rendering' I think would help improve roblox's rendering and memory glitches quite a bit. I support. |

Could also give the opportunity to bring in the high resolution decals, when you up close to them. |

Roblox is always trying to improve the performance for all players. |

Wouldn't actually help.
Physics calculations don't have anything to do with texture resolution. |

They do, i'm not sure how it works, but it does help. |

Support.
That tactic was originally used in Spyro games to give the full model time to load. :P

I would say either this or mipmapping. It would blur the things the farther out they are. |

I asked an IT guy about this, he said it would speed it up. |

roblox is already fast enough, umad?
Jokes aside, I can't tell if you're either stupid or just using a system that doesn't do jack.

The actual term for what you're thinking about is anisotropic filtering. What that is, in short, is a filtering system that is applied to textures (Decals, materials, etc). Many modern PC games have this option to help with the end user's performance, as different graphics cards handle the filtering in their own way (some are good at it, some aren't the very best).
Currently there isn't an option to change how ROBLOX renders anisotropic filtering, but depending on your graphics card, you can change how your graphics handles the rendering method.
To change how your graphics card would handle anisotropic filtering (If it has any support for it), usually you would right click an empty space on your desktop, and find a choice on the context menu that says something like 'Graphics Properties' or has the name of your graphics manufacturer on it (ATI/Radeon, nVidia, Intel etc). Then a window will open with your graphics control panel and a couple of options on that window. Look for something that says 3D or Rendering and click on it, then look for an anisotropic filtering option and experiment with the settings to where you like it and/or it gives you better performance.
If you'd like to read more about it, check out this Wikipedia article:

@ Seattlantis
Since you supported OP's topic with this information, I thought he's just using a crappy Macintosh or something.
Support in all for restoring respect.

SUPPORT,Only if this really will reduce lag. |
|

Just one thing.
Minecraft.
Even on minimum settings, and I mean that, roblox still is a lot faster. What roblox does is load everything at once. Minecraft loads as you go along. What that means for someone on a laptop with no power is that the first 10 or so minutes are laggy as heck on roblox, but after that, it's smooth. But on minecraft, I have constant lag because it's always loading.
Maybe it being an option or something? |

He's not comparing the the performance of the two programs, binomial. He's taking note of how the game looks. |

@ BinomialIsCool
There's already a feature in-game that's similar to loading a map as a player moves around via Game Menu.
