Why does Roblox never die? Because it is founded on principles people genuinely believe in. However, once you take away those principles, Roblox is doomed. Roblox needs to act fast, act smart, and NOT act stubborn. Instead of Banning Prices below the 300 tix bracket, just give Market fee cuts to those who come into the range you want users to price their shirts at. This will incentivize players to create better quality items WITHOUT punishing players who come in below the idea bracket or restricting player freedom. It will also give a point to the currently pointless market fee system. You saw that this will: 1. Raise the quality of items in the catalog. 2. Reward makers and sellers of clothing. 3. To incentivize non-paying users to buy ROBUX. You also make the point that we 'can't sell everything for free', a strawman argument, and that making shirts isn't the 'point of the game'. Really? Player generated content isn't the point of the game? It doesn't matter if you don't think it is the main point of the game, Shedletsky. The people on twitter are treating you disrespectfully, and you are lowering yourself to their standards, doing the same. No one supports you on this except for the people who are against nay-saying in general (they exist as a part of nature; there is no avoiding their existence). Let me provide you with empirical evidence you are wrong: In post-WWII Germany in the 1960s, the western powers placed price controls on west-Germany. The black market and hoarders were rampant. Against authority, the leading official of this conglomeration got rid of minimum price laws. The reaction was the complete disappearance of hoarding and black market. So you claim: >That exploiting will go down on Roblox! No, because as prices are much too high for more Robloxians, Robloxians will be more likely to resort to exploiting to gain a wanted shirt, which, may I add, can be done in ten seconds. Watermarking preview images of locked decals and textures is a first step to really curtail the problem-- exploitation can be done in any economic system. Target the exploitation, not the system. >Users will make higher quality things! In what way will this incentivize more creation? In NO way! Users who can create shirts that users will actually pay 300tix to buy already are! I have an idea: lower market fees for things over 300tix. This will create the required effect without an adverse effect on the economy. Incentivize and build instead of discourage and destroy. >Users will be rewarded by more earnings! First off all, a cut in market fees (with absolutely no real existent use) would achieve the same effect. Secondarily, how many users will buy it is determined by supply and demand, so if 1000 users by a 1 tix shirt, and 100 buy a 10 tix shirt, you experience no difference. The idea users will find 300tix a worthwhile price to buy any but the best of shirts is just plain wrong. All users start out with humble beginnings, but if the lower quality shirts cannot be priced appropriately, no one will buy them, drastically stagnating if not entirely eliminating the influx of new creators. Shirt value is based on how much a player wants it, not what the admins have decreed should be payed! Please consider my suggestion as a reasonable alternative to your dictum on the Roblox economy.

The removal of useful stuff, the 3.0 bodies, the outlines, the paid access, and now the price floor? Shedletsky, fire yourself.

I almost punched my computer screen of excitement, because this is the best post on this matter that I have seen so far. Hopefully the people at ROBLOX get their stuff together, and stop thinking of ideas that will ruin what they have built.

http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=113890201 So far seeing this update, the rich will get richer while the poor will stay poor. They should find a more efficient way. On the other hand, your suggestion seems pretty logical, though it might not improve on the quality of clothing as much it would definitely be better than the one we are stuck with for now.

I agree! We shouldn't be limited on how much we pay to buy a shirt, about 42% of Roblox may not even HAVE 300 TIX!

@him I cancelled my BC subscription. I refuse to pay for a service where the players' opinions aren't valued.

Honestly, I think that an upload fee like what they're doing with the sound (but not so expensive, obviously) would do far, far more to cut down on the flood of low-quality user-created clothing there is right now. Right now, it takes nearly zero effort and costs nothing (in the immediate sense, anyways) to upload a poor-quality article of clothing. THIS is the reason the median quality of user-created attire is so abysmally low, NOT because users aren't making enough off them. (Let's face it, the catalog is NEVER going to approach the economic level that games revenue is, since when you really boil it down, ROBLOX is about building and gaming, not playing dress-up.) -Doc

I feel a bump is appropriate due to Roblox's response in the blog. Please, if you like this idea, let your voice be heard! :)
