This used to be in the game as a feature back in 2011. It was removed a day or so after being released. The return of this feature would be extremely useful in building and other various tasks. Please take this suggestion into consideration.

RyanDolan123 - This is not the case. Read through the main post again and understand that what I am suggesting is for the player to be able to play in first person with the mouse unlocked. |

It could be scripted extremely easily
KeyDown event that makes a gui with the Modal property enabled visible on the screen every time you press shift
Roblox would probably never implement the Shift thing |

Once again, please read the OP. This was in the game for a short while and was extremely helpful. Scripting is not the answer as it is restricted to places which use said script. |

Roblox will tell you the same thing. This is why Roblox has no AFK features. |
