Before, when ROBLOX was all non-profits, the whole "The marketplace fee works like the real world" spiel seemed viable- didn't it used to be 10% actually? It also always made a little sense as you'd generally want to avoid an influx of ROBUX causing the value to decrease so much that Tix would ACTUALLY have a point, I remember in 2008 when 2 robux = 1 tix. You sure worked hard to increase that so much that our items sales mean little if it isn't in ROBUX already. Also, using DevEx 7 times supposedly requires us to be taxed anyway, so I'm pretty sure your mockup tax imitation is redundant.
Anyway, let's get down to business here. If a player were to buy 100,000 ROBUX, how much money would it cost them?
Assuming the player is NBC like the average player this would be calculated as follows:
22,500 ROBUX x4 ($199.95 per) = 90,000 ROBUX which costs $799.80 dollars
and 10,000 ROBUX is $99.95
This totals $899.75.
Of course if somebody realistically was going to outright buy 100,000 ROBUX, they'd get BC first.
35,500 ROBUX x2 ($199.95 per) = 70,000 ROBUX which costs $399.90
15,000 ROBUX x2 ($99.95 per) = 30,000 ROBUX which costs $199.90
This totals $599.80
Even more realistically, one player buying 100,000 robux is outright ridiculous and realistically most of our sales will come from people who buy 400-1000 Robux. Let's do the maths on how much it would cost if 100,000 robux was bought in lots of 450 and 1,000 for a buildersclub member, turbo buildersclub member and outrageous builders-club.)
450 ROBUX x200 ($4.95 per) = 90,000 ROBUX which costs $990 dollars
1,000 ROBUX x10 ($9.95 per) = $99.50
This totals $1,089.50
Assuming 50% of the V.I.P pass buyers / clothes item buyers are NBC, the price is going to be higher.
(For info 400 ROBUX x250 ($4.95 per) = 100,000 robux as is over $1,289.
Now enough with the random facts, the issue here is the DevEx requirements (Which is very neatly hidden until the requirements are met so players think that we're scamming them and begin to think of us as greedy.)
The DevEx exchange rate is 100,000 ROBUX = $100. Now take these facts into considering.
1. You still charge us a 30% marketplace fee on bought access regardless of BC level.
2. You still charge us a 30% marketplace fee on clothes
3. You still charge us a 30% marketplace fee on
4. To reach the lowest mark for DevEx we need our users to spend between $1,089 to $1,289 in order to obtain 100,000R.
5. Despite this we need to buy OBC, I'm guessing for free advertising? Or maybe you feel we still don't deserve the money at this point.
6. On top of all of the above, you STILL insist on charging us a 30% marketplace fee for everything we make, even after all of the above. Meaning that players NOW need to spend realistically $1,415.70 to £1,675.30 through V.I.P passes they think are worth buying for the games we've poured our souls into, and also receive hate for the passes as players run out of money and are unable to buy more, not to mention their parents probably hate us just as much. I recall, as a kid playing a game as a non-member before for years before my dad considered it worth paying £3.50 a month for (Which was Runescape and made the game MUCH more fun.) Now considering, that you expect us to accomplish this hundreds of times despite being single developers AND whilst not making the features so overpowered that it breaks our game, which heavily limits us if our game is one we plan to keep popular for a long time.
There's two main suggestions I have:
1. Get rid of Marketplace fee for game passes and clothing or at least lower it drastically and exponentially depending on BC level (E.G 15% for BC, 10% for TBC and 0% for BC) also, it rounds it up regardless of how close it is to the next whole number, you seriously don't need or deserve the excess money we earn from our hard work, or is all the expanding getting to your heads? You're also making it obvious that Buildersclub levels are really just throwing money down the drain, especially when most of the 'upgrade' is what? a little more daily Robux that doesn't help at all these days since you charge 100x more for everything and nothing costs tix, also giving us 100 places and groups when we'll never use or need to join more than 50 groups unless we go out of our way, then not do anything with 90% of them. And 100 places when nobody will ever make or need more than 30 quality places enabled or even use them after a week.
2. Lower the amount of ROBUX required to use DevEx by at least 25%. I've done the math and laid it on the board, so there really is no need for the extortionate amounts and taxes?
3. Add video items that can last up to 1 minute long and charge 500,000 robux for it. Yeah, we could make 20x more from that, so it'd be much more worthwhile than scraping up 100,000 robux, turning it into £58, despite the exchange rate being 100 dollars to £62 spending £12 on OBC lowering the amount to £40, which isn't EVEN enough to buy a new game despite JUST having spent a MONTH ripping THOUSANDS off ANGRY players with HIGH QUALITY updates to meet your CRITERIA for DEVEX. but of course it wouldn't be in your interest for the partnership to be between us and Youtube, and I could get some coursework done as I've been frantically updating my games most of my time that I've had barely any time to study, do course work, socialise or play games due to the ridiculously high requirements for DevEx, despite being a year 2 University computer games development student.
Thank you for reading, I hope you understand a little of our feelings.

Also, one last thing: When people hit play, a 30-ish second ad pops up saying "Gameplay sponsored by..."
1. I'm pretty sure nobody sponsored my ''GAMEPLAY''
2. I know for a fact that 30 second ad makes you 2-4x what DevEx does.
3. How many ways do you need to rip people off before giving them 5% of their works earnings?
I feel like ROBLOX is still deluding itself into thinking all of its users are throwing together games easily, well over the course of the almost 5 years of january 2009- november 2013, I've spent a ridiculously long time working on my games, with hundreds of thousands of lines of code and thousands and thousands of hours.
Take this into acount: An OBCer with 100 games with nothing on them, all still get the "sponsored" message, so does every other non-played game on ROBLOX. So you're making it blatantly obvious that it's a 'If your game is successful, we're going to rip hundreds of dollars off of your ad revenue, but it's totally all thanks to us, even though you made the game and got us the players in the first place'. And in case you're thinking "They'd just play some other game anyway". I can safely say a tonne of my fans only play ROBLOX because of my games. What you're doing is similar to slave labor where we work ourselves into the ground, and regardless of how much ad money our game gets from that popup, we'll never see it.
So let's get this straight one final time.
o You're taking hundreds of add money from that popup despite us earning the popularity ourself, we don't even get a cut. You also claim they sponsor our game play and not our game. Do you even know what 'game play' mans? I decided the game play.
o You take a 30% cut of everything we earn so we'll struggle even more and have to make our players pay more money.
o You pay us back less than 10% of the money we made people buy to pay for our game passes to get DevEx
o You didn't even make it easy, you know how many times I Randomly got banned over the years for random stuff like speaking Japanese and being told not to speak japanese except on the language forum? Or being banned for saying "how does a moderator who only started playing a week ago become admin" in the forums in regards to the new admin 'nobledragon' on his first week of ROBLOX, DESPITE clearly meaning with "play" that I meant "been on roblox", it's a thrase and then putting in the moderation comment "Moderators are here to moderate, not to play". Pretty immature. Pretty sad if you ask me. Yeah I know talking about moderations is against the rules, but go on and ban me and I'll give the story to a few news sites to think about :) You also deleted most of my graphics involving females despite them being fully clothed, appropriate and only showing their faces, meaning that in my battle game of males and females, I had a VERY HARD time getting the decals for the females, so after all that bs you rip all the money off of it anyway? Not to mention all of the game breaking bugs you throw around and never fix.
Loving the blue torso bs and the first person break btw. Or have I not earned you enough?
o You're using us to advertise OBC for free and making us pay even more.
o The transfer rate isn't even right. Google will tell you that 100 dollars = 62 pounds, not 58 pounds.

I do think that they should offer more money for ROBUX, but considering how a few months ago I was doing this for free, I'm not complaining.
The DevEx update came at a rather good time, because I was just about to quit. And if I do the math, I make ROBLOX at least $150,000USD per year. So now, I get $6000USD back from that. So DevEx did influence me to stay, but as my university priorities will grow, I'll need to cut off more resources.
So if ROBLOX doesn't increase payout I'd probably have to leave, which I don't want to do because I LOVE ROBLOX and it's been a huge part of my childhood but I need to start focusing on my own income. I feel working as a coder outside of ROBLOX I'd make more.
I spend a lot of time on ROBLOX. Probably at least 35 hours a week. Every 4 weeks I make $500. With the programming companies that are currently giving me offers, working 35 hours a week, I'd be making $1400. ROBLOX does offer flexibility, as in I don't have to do work to get paid, but the price difference is so immense ($900 difference working at $10 an hour) that I won't be able to make games here forever. |

"You still charge us a 30% marketplace fee on clothes"
So your telling me that dev.ex will give us money when buying clothes? What about their money? They need money to keep the game up, if not then roblox is dead.

Full and total support. For both Friaza, Drewleitch, and Rukiryo.
"So your telling me that dev.ex will give us money when buying clothes? What about their money? They need money to keep the game up, if not then roblox is dead"
No, he's saying they'll give us the money we rightfully deserve, rather than stripping away 30% of it and throwing it down the toilet.

Just saying, but nowadays people that have Builders Club and $499.95 to blow would get 100k robux. :3 |

Support, this idea may seem just right. |

The main problem here. Is you could have two builder's club accounts say they both have a limited worth 200 and you have 150k robux. You could buy it for 150k robux till the price project's so high to 150k and isn't even worth buying anymore. It would ruin trading and also tons more
