This can be easily abused. As a practical example:
Say we have an account who tends to copy places and get them to the front page without much to any effort on their part. They decide to leave the comments open on their new front page game.
When many others decide to comment that the place is stolen from another account, he deletes them so that the rest of the comments are only positive.
Of course, one could always just disable their comments entirely.
