Hi, I'm Wheatlies, I'm the lead developer of the ruddev game Island, created by team Rudimentality. In the following post I will provide an explanation of what the game is, and how to play it well. The controls can be found by pressing H while in game.
Part 1: What is Island?
Island is a game about survival, and eating people. You're a member of one of many species of sub-human creatures, which wander this strange and verdant hell. On the Island, you will find farmilliar animals, like spiders and giraffes, which you can slaughter and use for sustenance. You'll also find lots of food, growing all over the place, and chances are you'll find some other players too. They will be equipped with weapons of all sorts, and most likely very unfriendly. Whether or not to try and cooperate with them, or to kill them and wear their skin like a shirt (you can do this,) is your choice.
Part 2: Food
In island, you'll find all sorts of things growing on trees and floors. These will be listed here.
Meat, such as fish or just meat, must be cooked by placing it over a fire before being used.
Rosefruit: Poisoned, 4 hunger.
Juju, Emits red light, unpoisoned, 3 hunger.
Muju, Emits blue light, unpoisoned, 3 hunger.
Kavanut, Poisoned, 3 hunger.
Javanut, unpoisoned, 3 hunger.
Whoblanut, unpoisoned, 3 hunger.
Reddiblanut, unpoisoned, 3 hunger.
Wheatlinut, unpoisoned, 3 hunger.
Chickenfruit, Poisoned, 3 hunger.
Passionfruit, unpoisoned, 2 hunger.
Orange, unpoisoned, 3 hunger.
Curefruit, unpoisoned, cures poison, 3 hunger.
Boltnut, unpoisoned, increases stamina, 4 hunger.
Part 3: Animals
Animals are creatures in island, they sleep, mate, and do other things.
They can also be bribed into traps and things with certain fruit.
Spider: 30 HP, Human Meat
Panda: 100 HP, Bamboo
Warthog: 100 HP, Beigefruit
Giraffe: 50 HP, Wheatlinut
Elephant: 400 HP, Rosefruit
Sheep: 50 HP, Chickenfruit
Beetle: 60 HP, Muju
Part 4: Armor
In island one will find many types of hides which can be crafted into armor. Here is what they will add to your health when worn. (They do not stack)
