The price of the name change has one very specific reason:
It's to stop people name changing.
This is why sounds and video costs 250r$ and 1000R$ respectively; Sounds and videos cost a lot to moderate, and name changing...
What is wrong is spamming name changes actually...? Eh, I've forgot...
It's something to do with the database locking usernames, making spamming usernames corrupt the database of names or something like that.
It's not to prevent NBCers doing it, it's to make people not want to do it, for whatever reason.
Besides, you get infinite name changes when you join-
It's called being absolutely completely satisfied with you name, because you hit enter and join.
