Sooooo... With quantum entanglement and all I wonder if anybody will invent a cheap consumer grade quantum communication module. The uses would be endless. We could eliminate the need for satellites and I could make my drone have infinite range :D

We can't/don't know how to use quantum entanglement to send information (yet) But maybe in the future

@Hax, How about no more threads where people try to act smart instead?

I didn't even know that he was Weewoo, now it all makes sense.

Just split an atom and you can send a message that way... To the whole world.

PiggyJingles, the actual energy released from splitting most atoms is miniscule if you are only splitting one atom.

You can't actually usefully transfer information using quantum entanglement as we understand it right now. Being able to do so is a probably a science fiction.

"""You can't actually usefully transfer information using quantum entanglement as we understand it right now. Being able to do so is a probably a science fiction.""" go to the Wired website. It discusses this in great detail, although I do understand how it works, I don't feel like explaining it here. The reason people want Quantum Communication is that merely looking at the data radically changes it [String Theory!].** This aids in letting a person know when a communication has been intercepted. They might do this by sending a static data packet through the data stream before other data. Then, if the person receives data other than the agreed static data that was supposed to be in the packet, they will use a different pair of Public and Private keys for PGP encryption, etc. ** A fundamental part of this is that the Sum of every integer [up to the HIGHEST number] is equal to [in very broad terms] -1/12. This plays a large role in the quantum entanglement communication hypothesis. For proof go to: youtube/watch?v=w-I6XTVZXww

"As we know it right now" basically sums up the accuracy of my post.

And I love how all these kids raged when I brought up the word quantum. I would bet money that none of them even have a clue what entanglement is, unless of course they look it up on wikipedia, as usual.
