if u dont meet the standards set by mediocre writers u will be shamed and insulted for trying to post your own thread
also ur only allowed to do genres said mediocre writers have approved otherwise you will be insulted and shamed once in a similar fashion

What Digi said, wasn't fully correct. The writers on the forum don't really want another Pokemon thread, or a RP entirely from a book/movie/show, with only characters and outcomes different. |

Actually, every single shred of advice given here is completely and utterly stupid. Apart from one bit, vamking is an ass. It's true. Don't give a crap about opinions here, it is bluntly true. I have previous R.Ping experience on different forums so I know how things generally work.
Basically, you make a roleplay for people to join, where they make a character and explain what the character does through the use of text.
As for what roleplay to make, something originally is generally appreciated but not required.
If you need examples of bad threads I have a thread somewhere in which I basically make fun of bad threads. Or threads that I see as bad. There is no such thing as a truly bad thread, since everything is opinions. I probably wouldn't listen to anything too heavily driven on opinions, you need to look more for facts until you develop your own opinions.
But then again, this is all just my opinion. |

Actually, some of my advice is technically false. A roleplay doesn't have to take place purely through text, but generally does in this context. |

But, if you want a good roleplay, generally a nice original idea works.
Not like you sit at your keyboard for five minutes and say
Ummmm, what about.... ZOMBIES! Yes, that'll work! Come up with a generic storyline about how Scientists screwed things up..... Then have it so that the RPers are the ONLY people who are immune to the virus, so I don't have to deal with rage.... CHECK! Then have it so that they are in some 'SUPA SURCRET SCIENCY BASE THING!' And that some evil N@zi scientists are testing on you just because they're evil. And have them twirling evil moustaches while they are at it! Make the security team incompetent idiots who never look behind them. CHECK! Then have it so they can escape in less than three posts! CHECK! Job done! |
