Roblox recently introduced GUI rotation and SurfaceGuis. Well, while the devs are still on the subject of GUIs, why not introduce CameraGuis?
To clarify, what I mean by 'CameraGui' is a GUI with a 'CameraLocation' property and a 'CameraDirection' property. These will be numerical values much like the position and rotation of Parts. When a CameraGui is inserted and given the right values, it will work just as an ImageLabel would - but it would show a live, moving image of wherever the CameraPosition is.
In a nutshell, it's a GUI that lets you see another area of the map. Could be used for spectating, security cameras, etc, and of course would be compatible with SurfaceGuis and BillboardGuis.
Stuff not to bother saying because I'll answer them right here:
1. "But Jiraza, it will lag!"
> Everything causes lag. It's not like this will create a huge difference. And if it gets bad just turn down your graphics settings.
2. "But Jiraza, that's impossible for the devs to script!"
> Yah yah, and so were vehicles and HttpService. Nothing's impossible >:l
3. "But Jiraza, there's no point!"
> Pff, it has plenty of uses. Just go ask a police officer. |

Unless I am mistaken, the "scriptable" element is for low-resolution and low-FPS cameras using a series of Frames and a load of raycasting...
So yeah, not exactly the most scriptable thing.

Cheers for the supports, and to those who believe I copied the idea, I'll admit I took some inspiration from the BLOXcast, but I think it should have a more solid explanation and Roblox really needs the interest of S&Iers to make big ideas happen. |

Support because the current method is too slow.
But there has to be limits, as you're essentially rendering the same thing twice, but with different vantage points. |
