Well congress will vote on it
The push to make opening day a recognized national holiday is headed to Washington D.C. after the official White House petition reached its 100,000 signature goal on Friday.

If you actually go beyond thinking about this as a mindless baseball fanboy, this is actually a really bad idea. |

Kool, this is because baseball is Americas Pastime, it has been here since 1857. It's an American tradition. I think it would be pretty cool. |

2.2 million Americans aren't the government. What you don't realize is that the government shuts down during a federal holiday, and the entire economy shuts down. Holidays are expensive, and we already have enough.
And what's your point? If you counted the number of Americans that skipped work for the Super Bowl, it would be massively larger than that number. Baseball is fading in interest. If any sport should be a national holiday (and none of them should be) it should be the day after the Super Bowl.
Hey thanks though for giving a moronic irrelevant response about MLS though. |

Except MLB is the third most popular pro league out of 5 lmao. |

It is a fading sport, and it has been for years now, but I look forward to you saying "Ok." again like a little b**ch. |

I could see why rune thinks it is a fading sport. He lives in Houston where the arguable the worst baseball team is. I can tell you here in MPLS baseball is still very popular |

Or anyone could just look at the steadily declining TV ratings, but that works too |

This is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Nothing wrong with Opening Day but the last thing it should be is a Holiday.
