Problem: Cannot join Games, cannot Build properly, cannot Edit properly.
Problem Occured: Approx. 2 years ago

System OS:
PC, Windows 8 - (Confirmed to Work, ran fine for Approx. 1 year)

In Detail:
Whenever I try to play games I get a "Unable to Join Game. Try again later" error.
Whenever I enter Build mode, all I get is an empty map (No baseplate, no character) - even when I already have stuff in it. Also cannot insert Models from ROBLOX (.RBXM files on computer can be inserted).
Edit also glitches same way as Build mode.

Yes; I have uninstalled and reinstalled ROBLOX. Doesn't work.
Yes; I have tried running ROBLOX in Compatibility mode. Doesn't work.
Yes; I have tested ROBLOX on another brand-new never used computer. Doesn't work.
No: I find it highly unlikely that is an internet problem and have taken no action to modify the internet service and/or firewalls.

This sounds like a problem that a lot of people had a long time ago. Try logging out and playing a game as a guest. |

March 21, 2014. I first experienced this problem. I launch my games off google Chrome. I have Un-Installed ROBLOX having already deleted robloxlogs, and the roblox folder. However When I try to install it again, it simply says: Roblox has stopped working. |

Same thing has happened to me. (My caps key isn't working) I press play game and it never loads. It just says "roblox is updating, please wait" and also when i click the icon on the computer menu, the webpage for roblox never shows up. i really love roblox and im afraid i may never play again. anyone help? |

Same over here, when I join, the game simply freezes. Please roblox fix this, PLEASE. I've tried with many servers and have uninstalled and restarted the computer, but it simply, WONT WORK |

Sorry for being slow to reply - I'm dealing with things outside of ROBLOX.
Right-click RobloxPlayerBeta and run it as Admin. What should happen is it contacts roblox asking for a server (which it won't because you didn't start it from the browser), it gets told it's out of date and it starts downloading a fresh copy. |

One small problem with that. When I right-click, run as Admin (same message regardless if I run as Admin or not) I get this message:

--id arg id of the place to join
-c [ --content ] arg path to the content directory

-w [ --waitEvent ] arg window is invisible until this named event is signaled
--API arg output API file
-d [ --dmp ] upload crash dmp
--play specifies the launching of a game
--app specifies the launching of an app

And typing the letters doesn't do anything. Just that annoying beep sound when you've got a window that won't close and requires that you finish it first. |

Those are launch options, like "C:\executable.exe -silent".
The "-d" option is encouraging; try creating a shortcut, and editing the directory to include "-d -id 142823291 --play" at the end.
What should happen is roblox will open, start loading the place as a guest, then crash and upload a dump file to roblox. |

Putting "-d -id 142823291 --play" at the end of the directory gives me a "Unrecognized option '-id'".
Changing it to -d --id 142823291 --play" doesn't do a thing, and putting -d --id arg 142823291 --play" gives a "the argument ('arg') for option '--id' is invalid" [possibly a place ID in question does not exist?] |

My brother is having that problem too. He's on a Windows 8.
The roblox player doesn't work and you can't play any game -same msg- via google chrome.
It must be an update that messed it up.
(I can play perfectly fine on my Windows 7 AND Windows Vista. |

Well, my hard disk crashed randomly for some reason (not due to installing Win 8.1) and I had to get a new one. Now - for the time being at least - ROBLOX Player runs games through Internet Explorer.

dude i think is a problem with some corrupted or exclued program or something ( or can be tbb.dll problem)

I reccomend you try the following two actions;
-Re-Log your account on roblox. (to make sure you are logged in properly).
and
-Re-install roblox, to ensure there are no bugs in your game.

Roblox is in maintenance you should wait a moment.
If that doesn't work then it might be that you need to re-install roblox.
1. Use windows explorer
2. Search for %appdata%
3. Click Roaming
4. Click AppData above the documents
5. Click Local
6. If you clicked that click the Roblox document now
7. Click Versions
8. Delete all the documents
9. Re-install roblox
10. If that didn't work then you just need to wait, like i've been writing earlier. |
