The maximum rate of fire on mounted machineguns is now 500 bullets per minute. [New Alteris] We accept Tudor's request to join the 2 stations together, and ask them what to name the space station. Meanwhile, several modules are sent to the space station, such as hydroponics, microgravity, and biology laboratories, and a station hub and control center. Astronauts are almost ready to be sent up. Work begins on connecting the Mars and Ark, and several small booster rockets are attached to the station. More satellites are sent up. Some of these satellites now contain weather instruments, the results on which are sent to weather stations for a more accurate forecast. [Alteris Novus] The recent oil boom has led to massive development and industrialization of Egypt and Saudi Arabia at a extremely fast rate. There are now around 50,000,000 people living in the large cities that have appeared.

On live TV, it explodes upon entering the atmosphere. It is currently unknown what caused the disaster, but all 3 astronauts are killed, and the dangers of space travel are revealed to the public. [Alteris] Radar finishes development and is put in planes and ships. Submarines have been massively improved, now modeled after the German U-boats of WW2. Basic surface to air missiles, used with the newly developed radar, are implemented in defense systems and ships. The defense grid is completely overhauled, the old technology now defunct. It is made into several hundred satellites covering and watching over Alteris land, with early warning devices, missile systems, anti-air weapons, army bases, and (currently empty) artillery and machine gun emplacements littered around, as well as a massive naval force of several thousand battleships patrolling our waters and other assorted vehicles guarding our land. [New Alteris] The Ark is improved, and the first 4 man crew is sent up to conduct experiments. As it is a success, another 6 are sent, reaching it's maximum capacity. Taking advantage of the relative lack of pollution in North America, several research laboratories begin work into the first infrared telescope, allowing us to see further than before with the radio telescope. It is a success, and construction begins. [Alteris Novus] Massive amounts of oil pumps are built to fuel the rapidly growing demand. Larger, stronger ships are built to carry more barrels of oil. A pipeline is proposed to ease tranportation, and the foundation for it is laid.

Ships now have advanced guided missiles. We begin work on missile submarines and anti ship missiles, as well as guided torpedos and advanced mines. Rocket artillery land vehicles, capable of firing multiple rockets, are invented, constructed, and put into service. Several non-nuclear ICBMs are built, and rocket silos constructed. [New Alteris] We agree to the proposal. Ark is now within 1 km of Mars. The station is reinforced, and more solar panels added, the existing ones improved. A larger habitable pod is sent up to the station, allowing for several more astronauts to be sent up. More research labs are also added. [Alteris Novus] The 2 current nukes are turned into nuclear ICBMs and secret silos built in the Sahara Desert, capable of reaching any continent in the world. Multiple non-nuclear ICBMs are also installed at this facility. Its remote location also allows for a top secret research base to be constructed, which stores confidential information and weaponry. Its codename is "Area 1".
