Volunteer translators!
I'm Spanish (that doesn't mean I don't understand what the site says because I'm fluent in English as you may have noticed already). I want to be able to play with my friends without them asking me what certain things mean all the time.
That's why I think (like interns last year) ROBLOX should have some volunteer translators to translate the website and game client into different languages.
Since it isn't much of a slow job as there would be various people working on it at the same time, by the end of the Summer holidays ROBLOX would be complete in at least a few different languages (be it French, Spanish, Swedish, etc).
Some issues I could see with this though:
- ROBLOX would have to find people for the job, which would be done (I think) through a survey, similar to how the Maker Faire ROBLOX booth one worked.
- ROBLOX would have to provide a system for the translators to work with, so this way the work is done way faster.
- Some of the people applying might not actually be fluent in their foreign language/mother tongue and would try to get a part in it anyway, which means that ROBLOX would have to conduct some kind of exam to choose people.
In my case (since I'm proposing the idea, I'm interested in participating), certain ROBLOX staff actually speak Spanish, so it would be easy for me to proove that I'm fluent in English and Spanish.
What do you think? Please post below!
