well these trying (hard) to be serious colonial groups officers does really using formations and drill, and duel(sf) in training
sometimes Practice Raids
but I don't frikkin care about these trying hard groups |

@ssd
Neither do I, I left those groups a long time ago.
It's just a kids' game.
But, for the groups that are trying this, they should at least do it properly. |

tournaments are useful.
Not for literal training, but to foster a competitive atmosphere. The competitive factor( drive to be better than others) in humans is incredibly useful is motivating soldiers to improve skills / be active. Pitting soldiers against eachother is the only way to accomplish this.
The rank system doesn't accomplish this by itself, because the number of competitors negatively affects the will to improve. Creating small individual situations where competition can develop between individual soldiers is useful. |

I get where you are going and I agree, but then you have to take into account that the majority of military groups around based around role play and the "realistic" aspect of the game. Most people who attend these trainings never actually even play the combat game for which they may or may not be intended. |
