The reason I placed this here is cause I didn't find any help from other forums out there. Ever since I came back from school, my PC won't activate. Let's travel back in time, shall we? After the night, I put the PC to sleep mode, after coming back from school, the PC was sleeping (maybe hibernating). I tried pressing all buttons, keyboard, mouse, power button but nothing worked. I have tried RESETING BIOS by taking out the battery, cleaned the dust, unplugged and re-plugged wires/jumpers. Nothing has seemed to work yet. And what are these people talking about called 2 red pins that turn on the PC? Where are they located? My dad's an electric but he had to go to Finland. So I has no idea :Q. I have an ASUS motherboard, AMD processor,CX500 PSU, Windows 7 OS.

Chances are your hard drive, and other components have given out.

Well, you haven't really given me much to think about but pretty much a component has probably overheated and blown and you said you removed the battery to reset the BIOS, Removing the battery doesn't reset the BIOS. to reset the bios you have to actually get into the computer and post-boot is so the bios flashes then press some button like F1 or something to enter the bios menu and then reset it. But seeing as you cannot start your pc then i would recormmend you leave it for a couple of days or wait for your father.

maybe turn off your laptop when going to school after youve fixed it. I would suggest you try to get a professinol to help you. Is there PC world near you or something? Go to them and ask them to fix it... But it will cost you some money, do that when your dad comes home if he cant fix it

Well, I think it's damaged parts. Did you drop your laptop? Did you dismantle and forgot installing any wires? Did you remove the RAM? If so, did you install the RAM chips properly (this had happened to my laptop, first it detected 1 gig of ram, then 2 gig, then again 1 gig, then 0 (when it couldn't get on) and then the total 3 gig). How much Gigs of ram you have? If it's too low, maybe many processes are preventing it to get on. But if there is insufficient RAM, the lights still get on, then off. You can on your laptop? Then it isn't RAM problem I guess. Then I guess you removed your hard drive and then didn't place it properly. I sent my laptop to repair many times (it was overheating) and those people were useless. I cleaned the laptop's fan myself (it was as dirty as a 25 year old thing).. If I helped you, your welcome!

Alright, one question, did you use anti-static equipment while resetting the CMOS jumper/BIOS battery. This doesn't belong here so feel free to message me about this (I have 4 + years of experience in managing hardware and solving people's issues.)

Well, I've did some tests (and it's a PC, not a laptop). CMOS is a battery that keeps the BIOS stored. So I tried to boot it up by connecting the PWRBTN pins together, but no spark, I'm thinking it's cause can be no-power. Any ideas?

Anti-Static equipment? No, I don't wear wooly stuff and I had no static electricity on my fingers, I'm not that dumb enough.
