I joined Roblox in 2011, back then when you earned a badge there would be a message that popped up on the chat, along with a sound. That notification alone influenced me to go for any badge I could in any game I played, it made Roblox a REALLY fun experience. Later on Roblox made the leaderboard and the chat layout change, the badge system also changed a little bit. Users no longer see badge notifications. Users now have no reason to go for badges and usually don't even know if they got one!
Now here is my idea for badges that I think would bring back the badge aspect back to life.
1. If you or another user earns a badge then it appears like a friend request notification on the bottom right corner of your screen in game. Instead of there being a picture of the user you got a friend request from there would be the badge picture.
- If another user earned a badge then it would have a black background on your screen.
- If you earned a badge then it would have a golden background on your screen, or a different color that stands out.
- Make an option in your settings (esc button) that you can toggle, if it is on then you will get a notification when a badge is earned. If it is off then you will receive no notification for earning a badge.
- DO NOT add the ding sound when someone gets a badge, it's cool but very annoying at the same time.
2. All games have a list of badges that the creator has made on them. If you have one of those badges then you have no idea of actually knowing you have it unless you click the profile button on the top of your screen and check your full list of badges. My idea is that if you have a badge then it will display a green check mark to the left side of the badge on the list.
- This is a faster easier way to check what badges you have.
- It also gives you the feel of accomplishment when you look on the list and see that check mark. If I had all of the badges at a game such as the egg hunt then I would be proud because of this. Because of the current badge system I feel no pride in having the actual badge, just the egg.
tl;dr:
- A new system for badges that allows you to view what badges you have in an easier quicker way.
- Bringing back the old badge notification system from 2011 and before except it wouldn't appear on a chat but like the friend request GUI with a toggle on and off system. (Also no ding sound when a badge is earned.)

I'd support, but it has to be something only the developer of the game can disable and enable.
People like Clonetrooper on games like murder/stalker have their own badge notification system. This would contradict that.
If you addressed this problem, my bad, I read the tl;dr version lol

Okay, I see your point. I still think it would limit some people's creativity, game wise, that's probably why they removed it in the first place.
Like I said, I'd much rather have someone script a confetti gui spamming the screen than a normal roblox GUI. I still think it should be developer preference. Other than that, support, it's a pretty good suggestion. :p

Support, how about also being able to wear the badges? And if you click on someone you can see all the badges they have. This would definitly raise the value of badges. |

I think that the badge list on our profile also needs more too. Currently, it just lists the badges you have in order, and has no organization. You also can't easily delete unwanted badges because you might have pages and pages of badges to go through. I want badges to be organized by what game you earned them from, and also be able to display 15 badges you like the most. Now when players visit your profile page, they can see the badges that you worked hard for, and they can also see the badges you have for popular titles. |

Long ago, I played ROBLOX with its awesome features. Now, ROBLOX looks like they're trying to make it a boring online game, where you play games to earn nothing. I liked old ROBLOX better, I 100% agree with this thread. |

Support, but if it is a popular game, and there's a badge for joining, you don't want badge notifications every two seconds for the joining badge. I think it should only be for your badges, or have an option for turning other players' earnings to be turned off. |

This suggestion is good.
It annoys everybody which is fun and entertaining.
I might make a game that spams badges... then people get so annoyed, they get a badge for being annoyed then gets more annoyed, and others get annoyed from the annoying guy, then gets a badge for being annoying, then getting annoyed from a person who's annoyed, then getting a badge for getting really annoyed, then get a badge for rage quitting because of the badge notifications.
This is a great suggestion in short.

CloneTrooper made his own script for this in Murderer. Same for the creator of Flag Attack. It should be a default, but owners can choose not to do it for badges. Example: Murder Mystery has a badge for "You're Murderer!" It says who it is and ruins it.
