Hey, i'm YouDontExist (But you do) aka echoecho12's ghost. Today in the morning I read a post about a Dyslexic friendly ROBLOX by a great ROBLOXian named Brighters. He made a great dyslexic option proposal and it got me thinking of my red-green colorblindness. You see, I suffer from deuatranopia, where red and green are reversed for me. So like, when you see a tree with green leaves, I see them as red. Anyways, certain mixes of colors can irritate me, and a lot of colorblind ROBLOXians have complained of not being able to see where the character can move. My proposal is, have a colorblind option or a sight tester. I was thinking under account and into themes next to where you choose your theme there could be a "Colorblind Mode" option, and possibly a "Dyslexic Mode" option for anyone who suffer from the two. In the colorblind option, the option would update the sight's theme to match as someone who suffers from deuatranopia, and would change color pallets for ROBLOXPlayer and ROBLOXStudio, and the dyslexic mode would change the fonts into more dyslexic friendly fonts, change the colors too more "cream" or white, and make text larger and bolder. Anyways, though it would be hard to program, ROBLOX could benefit from more colorblind or dyslexic players to join ROBLOX and build great games that would look normal to those who have normal color or text vision. If ANYONE supports, no matter who, then post "I support" in the comments and send this thread to the ROBLOX Moderators, admins, and the owner.

People with red-green colourblindness experience it at different intensities. I assume (speaking as someone without the condition) it would be difficult to accommodate everyone's different conditions. |

A bit redundant from the Dyslexic-friendly mode suggestion.
How about combine the two into a suggestion called Accessibility mode? (and add blue health bars)
Of course, the BC-only restriction still applies. |

Wow, Roblox is not ADA compliant, visual wise. Not really, but a b&w feature could be added. Roblox actually needs to listen.

There should also be a claustrophobia option where games with extremely tight spaces aren't shown. |

I'm really a fan of these ideas to make ROBLOX more accessible. I'm not sure we will see this soon, but I personally really like the idea. |

I truely support. I can't see far away in real life and I have glasses. But blurs. I can hear and sometimes my eyes will blink and make it stop motion so I barely know what's in front without sound. Roblox should do this. Need's lots of memory but can really do good! |

I totally agree with the CB idea as I am color blind as well, mine is similar to your's. Colors are mixed to me. |

Unless you're going to support the primary idea of a colorblind option, or another option that was commented, then you probably shouldn't comment at all. |

I am also red-green colorblind and a deuteranope. I actually find roblox is very colorblind friendly. And red and green aren't reversed at all, it's just they're harder to distinguish. The main problem is telling colors in between apart. At least for me, anyway. There are also specific problem areas.
The character page on the avatar colors particularly caught my eye. At first I wasn't sure there was any arrangement to the colors, but now I can see there is. A very helpful arrangement at that.
See, the rows are of the following colors:
- Blue
- Blue/green
- Green
- Yellow/orange
- Pink/red
- Purple
- Brown
- Grey
In that order.
And the columns go from light on the left to dark on the right.
Now I've realized this, even with my colorblindness, I don't have to go to paint to try to work out what the color is. I can just select what I want to. Whoever came up with that organisation is under credited. It's helped so much since I often change my torso color.
The only problem I've come across is when people are saying colors in game. The game itself doesn't cause me problems. Then again, your colorblindness could be more severe. Where are the problem areas? I'm interested. |
