Whenever I try to use Insert(Bricks, Game Objects, etc.) everything loads fine, but when I try to insert something it says "Could not insert requested item".
At the same moment, this pops up into the Output:
"Mon Aug 24 21:07:37 2009 - httpGet http://www.roblox.com/asset/?id=53326 failed. Trying again. Error: Client doesn't support GZip. Elapsed time: -0.765831
Mon Aug 24 21:07:38 2009 - Client doesn't support GZip"
Not only does this affect inserting objects, it also won't let me play Roblox levels, not even in solo mode. I'm just wondering if anybody would be able to help me understand what is going on here.
I will try uninstalling and reinstalling roblox tomorrow to see if that helps.

Tim I have the EXACT same problem! Thank you for posting this because now I don't feel so alone haha.
Also, are you not able to see your clothes?
Not only can I not insert bricks into my place, but I also am not able to see my clothes or File Meshes...
I have been trying to get a response on this for some time now and I haven't gotten any replies on how to fix it. I even went on Google and looked up GZip. I think it's a program that compresses and extracts files, and apparently, the Game Client doesn't support it, which means we are not able to extract files (including meshes, clothes, and bricks) from the Roblox server.
I will keep trying to research this problem and will let you know on any updates. |

Why would it get all crazy over a gzip.tar file? |
I have no idea, but the problem is...
IT IS GOING CRAZY OVER A GZIP.TAR FILE!!!
AHH this is a really annoying bug... |

go to windows update (google it if necessary) and update your computer |
Ok I'm updating my computer now... It says that I have to install "Windows Vista Service Pack 2"...
Maybe it will work... |
Nope never mind. The update didn't change anything about the glitch. I really think that it has to do with something in the installer, like it isn't installing the Client correctly, or the Client is outdated. |

Meh, uninstall it THEN reinstall the client. |
I have tried reinstalling the Roblox game (after uninstalling), but it's not working. I still have the glitch. Is re-installing Roblox the same thing as re-installing the Client? |

do the windows update again; there's usually more stuff to update after service pack 2, like .net framework. |
Shockdude: what's your line of reasoning for thinking that the problem has something to do with Windows not being updated? The type of error seems to imply that it's an issue with the client retrieving data from that URL, not whether or not his OS is updated.
I'm not doubting your advice, since you have 2300 posts versus my one(this one), but I'm curious to hear why you think Windows not being updated is the problem. |
Actually, when I click "Check for updates" in Windows Update, I get an error message that says Windows Update can't search for any updates, however, I can somehow get updates automatically (I checked update history and some updates were recent; as in before I first encountered the glitch).
I spent a few hours looking for ways to fix the problem and trying the repairs, but I've had no success...
Even though it seems that this could be a HUGE problem for my PC, I think that lack of updates is not the problem with my glitch on Roblox. There is probably something wrong with the Client's download or the connection between the Client and my games. Also, if GZip was not installed correctly, or is not formatted to work on my PC correctly, then that can also be a cause.
By the way, I have tried twice to re-download and install Roblox, but it has not changed anything. Downloading it from other websites wielded the same results.
Through all of the research and apparent "fixing" that was done to fix this glitch with no success, I'm far past desperate. Maybe I'll just have to live with no new places, no free models, no clothes, and no Server meshes. This sucks. |

That file type is commonly used with unix-like OS's like a linux one. |

^
What does that have to do with this problem? |
I may be a bumping noob, but I need to get this fixed... so...
Bump. |
Yeah, I have the same problems...
No hats, no meshes, no decals, etc. |
Hey, when did the problem start for you?
It started do all this for me when my computer got a virus. That might've had something to do with it but I'm not quite sure... |
Actually, I did get a virus, and it was from Facebook. It was called "KoobFace" or something like that.
BUT I think I actually got this glitch earlier than I had the virus...
I don't remember when I got it, but maybe I can check my first post and see when it was... |

Wow, long topic... I think I had this problem before... but idk... |
If anyone has had this problem before and has FIXED it, PLEASE let me know! |
Really. This is a LONG topic and needs to be taken into consideration. Timwood is a member of Turbo Builder's Club, and has been on ROBLOX for more than a year. I have also been playing ROBLOX for almost two years now, and this is the first real big problem that I have encountered so far (besides that seat lag glitch about 6 months ago). If any moderator or staff member could simply tell me how to fix my computer to or the client to support GZip, that would make me the happiest guy in the world. |

I know this is an old post but I have the same problem and the mods say not to create two topics of the same thing so here I am bumping this.
