Name: [Maegniestheri] Aliases: [Maegni], [The Mage-Hermit] Species: [Kastucir] A race of dormant subterranean humanoids. Their defining traits usually include their cataclysmic body, seemingly made of a material similar to jet black obsidian with many gaps that glow a bright green from within. Their other, prominent trait are a pair of unique horns that sprout out of the sides of their head. Their history includes a large-scale but surprising quiet disaster that has forced many Kastucir's dormant. Their biology causes them to rely on small amounts of ether to live on, much like the workings of a Risen. When a civil war in the surface disrupts the etherwells across Thismonia, many Kastucir were forced into a dormant state to minimize their use of ether in order to live. 85% of the entire race fell - but 100% of the entire civilization fell. The few awake Kastucir were unaware - isolation is common amongst Kastucir, being raised in such a dark environment. Abilities: [Passive Defense] From a solid body, ordinary iron and steel can't hope to penetrate the hide of Kastucir warriors. [Ethersoul] Ether being their natural resource of life, they are well acquainted with the likes of magic. [Swordplay] Maegni practices his own unrefined style of swordplay, a last stand whenever he is forced to conserve his ether after using too much magic. Though easily bested by the most practiced arts, it's more than enough to outdo ordinary brigands. Weaknesses: [Solid Exterior] The heavier body of the Kastucir slows many down if they're laden with heavy equipment. Maegni compensates with light equipment, though his speed only barely excels that of a soldier with heavy armour. [Ethersoul] Despite making good mages, the inner ether within the Kastucir demands a smaller pool of usable ether to conserve some of their life. Foreign ether also redoubles as poison for the Kastucir. Biography: In the dark recesses of the empty library, Maegni found nobody. Even the library had to have some Kastucir. Ever since the discovery of brigands inhabiting a destroyed Kastucir dwelling, Maegni was curious about the disapperance of his kin. The answer came when he found a Kastucir, seemingly eternally asleep. The dormant Kastucir's form was collasped into glowing stone, recollecting itself with the geography around it. This was a sight he found everywhere where there was supposed to be life. Looking for the road seldom used, Maegni muttered, "Time to investigate the surface."
