After the globe shattering Nuclear War.. A nation was born. In the ruins of Bavaria, Germany, a Military Bunker was the home of a company of Soldier's and it's commander's. The Bunker was located a few Kilometer's west of Munich. The Commander's of the company were discussing their order's. The order's were to wait for the fallout to clear up and then leave the Bunker to begin maintaining law and order, they had enough supplies to last them for a few months and enough ammunition, Equipment and Weapons to last. They waited and waited until it finally cleared up. When it did, they emerged to a world far worse than they could ever imagine. They could see Munich burning in the distance. They maintained patrol's around the area, finding a small amount of survivor's. They assisted these Survivor's, helping them get by etc. In exchange, they would help the Soldier's restore a reasonable life for other's. So they did, a year passed by. They had set up a few settlements in safe area's and began to expand. They marched to surrounding Towns, like Fürstenfeldbruck. Fürstenfeldbruck had an Air Base located near it, 'Fürstenfeldbruck Air Base'. Before the War, the Airfield was merely used as an Officer Training School for the Luftwaffe. But due to World War III occurring, it was turned into an active Air Base. Luckily for the Company of Soldier's, the Base was mostly intact, with some Aircraft. Most personnel on the Base left after the Nuclear Exchange, but around 40-60 stayed at the Base. These personnel were barely getting by, starvation would soon set in. The Soldier's were able to have food shipped using a mix of Civilian Trucks that had been found in fairly good condition, the food came from some of the settlements set up by the Soldier's. The Air Base personnel regained strength and put their knowledge to use. Engineer's that were left on the base, which was only a small number, were able to bring most vehicles back online. Those that weren't had been damaged and were used for scrap metal. The Vehicles on the base included 4 UR-22's. Luckily all the Pilot's were still on base. UR-22's ran on Bio-Fuel's, so there was enough to last the 4 UR-22's a long time. The UR-22's were used to find new, safe location's to lay down settlements. A few months after building up more settlements and territory, they spread out of Bavaria into Prussia and other German territories.
-2062, 30 Years after the flash-
From the single company of Soldier's the force grew to thousand's, mixed of former Bundeswher and survivor's. After all of Germany was re-taken, a new nation was declared: The Greater Wasteland Reichstag. This occurred 6 Years after Nuclear War, in 2038. 4 Years later, in 2042, they spread from Germany to France, they conquered France in 3 Years, declaring France as part of the GWR. After gaining more recruits over those year's, they felt it was time for 2 front's. They conquered Luxembourg and Switzerland in a year. They then conquered the Netherlands and Denmark in 3 Year's. All former personnel of these countries Military's were not as well equipped or driven as the GWR's.
Spain was taken in 2 Year's. GWR's High Command decided to leave the Balkans alone for now. They turned their sights on the UK and Ireland. Over 4 years, they opened up factories, they created Farms, many in Alsace-Lorraine. The GWR siphoned Fuel from old Vehicles, they pumped more of it from the North Sea and it was put towards re-building. While they did this, they collected Naval Ships to form a Navy, they scrapped old vehicles, ships and planes for their metal and components. They opened up multiple metal refinery's which took in old metal, turning it brand new. They also set up a new currency, Reichmarks, which people could use to buy food from markets and other things required. Electricity was in small use, only mainly used for industry. The Air Force comprised of mainly UR-22's, most Pre-War and a small number even built after the war. While all this was done, a small conquest of Portugal was made. It took them a year to do it. By the time they had done all this, it was 2060. But it isn't as all positive as it sounds, often, there were food shortages, during Nuclear winter many would still die, just not as many before this stage. In some territories, like Austria, Famine was rife in places. But after the conquering of the UK and Ireland, these were seen less and less. By 2060, they were ready to take the UK and Ireland. With their newly formed Navy, GWR landed on UK soil. The British Military, which was more organized and supplied than thought, fought off the force at first. They inflicted casualties on the landing force. A treaty was then signed that the UK would willingly join the GWR, in exchange they would devote resources and people towards the needs of the GWR. The Royal Family, unfortunately, died when their UR-22's were caught in a Nuclear Explosion during the nuclear exchange. After 2 years of building up the UK as a second world country, the naval force headed to Ireland. Bolstered by British naval vessels, and experienced Royal Marine Commandos, they landed at Ireland. During the years following GWR's growth, Northern Ireland was taken by Southern Ireland. And an aggressive Irish Militia had been formed. GWR forces battled Irish Militia forces, it was a fierce and bloody battle. After 3 years of a bloody conquest, Ireland was finally part of GWR. The war had taken a lot of power out of GWR industry, and now they were building it back up. They were going to give 20 year's to re-building industry and growing stronger.
-2084, 56 years after the flash-
It was now 2084. GWR re-built after the war in Ireland. Ireland was re-built, but it is still a 3rd world country. They showed interest in Sweden, Norway and Finland, but have not yet landed there. Instead, they had set sights on Western
Africa. An invasion force was put together, consisting of much of navy. They will went from Spain, conquering Gibraltar, to Morocco. They then went onto the Western Sahara. The hot weather proved problematic at times, as troops could not go on, but it was done. They then used a part of Mauritania to enter Senegal, and declared that part as GWR land. Senegal was taken.It took nearly a year. They then begun to build on the coasts of the occupied African land, building mainly Docks. Africa was relatively unscathed, only South Africa was nuked on the whole African continent.
-2097, 69 years after the flash-
After 13 years since the last conquest, the GWR has gotten stronger. It's people were getting fair amounts of food, although GWR only had a small amount of factories, they worked well to give GWR what it needed. Factories made mostly crucial and important equipment, clothing, equipment. Military equipment was made at a slower rate and pace and Military vehicles were made at a small rate.
GWR High Command wanted to spy on America, to see what was going on. So they decided to carve a route which consisted of taking small islands which would be refueling stations for ships and supply depots. The naval force, which mainly consisted of merchant ships, set off. The first islands were only a few hour's away from Senegal. They landed, set up a few supply depot's,a Docks and a small garrison and set off the next day. The next islands were the South Georgian and South Sandwich islands. It took them a Day and most of the next day to get there. Each Military ship in the naval force had a landing pad which could carry a UR-22 on it. They sent the UR-22's ahead to settle down locations for supply depot's, another docks and garrison. They did this and settled down for the night. The next morning, the force set off again for the Falkland Islands. They came under fire by Artillery, they didn't know who. At the time, the British aboard the ships suggested it was the Argentinian's. They were right. The UR-22's were launched and they were sent to destroy the Artillery. They landed, overran the weakly defended positions and took the Artillery for their own use. The ships anchored near the Islands shores. A Dock was set up at the largest Island and supply depots as well. The Garrison wa set up with some Engineer's to build a few bunker's. The Artillery were put in key positions.
The ships left the next morning and headed for Puerto Aroya, which are close to the former nation of Ecuador. The trip took 2 Days, the Ships were close to running out of fuel, but they made it.
The next morning, most of the Ships were at the other Islands and there were only a few left. Most stayed but one Frigate with a UR-22 and a few smaller boats aboard and a military Tanker which had a few smaller boats aboard as well left to go to Hawaii.
They arrived at Hawaii and set up a small outpost on a deserted part of Hawaii.

(A few notes: GWR is not as powerful as it sounds, most of it's countries are second world countries, some, like Ireland are 3rd world countries. In Africa, they are 3rd world countries. The only first world country is Germany itself.) |
